  • Most feared Dlineman?

Now that Shep is gone from Hays. Who are the studs to watch in the MIAA. List your teams Ace or King (NW fans, don't list the depth chart full of jokers)

Obviously since you started this post, there is no one in Hayes to watch since you didn't list anyone.

Looking forward to seeing what Sima Thomas can do for Pitt in his Jr and Sr seasons.

From what I've seen in Spring, and from who I know is coming back for LU....

            Jon Harris
            http://lindenwoodlions.com/roster.as...&path=football

Returning 1st team all MIAA. Not as big as Shepherd, but built in that mold. Has the ability to take over a game. He was moved inside last year so that offenses had a harder time scheming away from him.

            Uchenna Egwuonwu
            http://lindenwoodlions.com/roster.as...&path=football

Transfer for U of Maine. Looked fast, athletic, a very hard to handle during spring ball. Will add another layer for opposing OLs to scheme against and take some pressure off of Harris.

Sabotka, Conners, Knox, and Davis should all be very solid as well.

True Freshman Tavian Weary could a factor as well if they don't redshirt him.

Overall, this is the most talented defensive line I remember LU having in a while. Defense should certainly take a step forward next year.
            Cool Story Bro

Are you counting defensive ends as part of the line because it'd be Tre'Vaun Ammons of Emporia State

Maybe not the best this year but the duo Sterling Swopes (Sophomore) and Sheldon Schmidt (Junior) had good years last year and should be pretty salty for a couple more years. Of course it helped them having Shepherd take a lot of the pressure off.

agree on Uchenna - the guy at least looks to part in spring. and if nothing else, jon harris will take a lot of the pressure which should give uchenna a good opportunity to make some plays.

If he was on any other team other than Mo So and had some more help around him

Levi Marley would be considered in the conversation of best DL

not sure about the guys mentioned cept one.

between sheppard, the pitt kid and the emporia kid, they had a grand total of 2 solo and 4 assisted tackles VS the CHO-line last season. out of this list (so far) the one we've had a BUNCH of trouble with is harris from lindenwood...he smoked us pretty bad. to the tune of 5 solo 3 assisted. id vote for him and a VERY close second, ill give to carson smith.

Although Willie Cooper will be missed. He quietly had a really nice season last year with 6 sacks, 8 TFL, 2 QB hits, and 4 batted balls.

Is this a real question? It's easily Eskew, isn't it?

Eskew will be a handful in his senior season. MIAA 1st teamer, 10 TFL + 6 sacks in 2017.

We'll need someone to step up on the other side or teams will just double him.

Ammons had 17.5 TFL and 8.5 sacks in 11 games as a sophomore last year along with four forced fumbles and six QB hurries (although not everyone keeps that stat and those that do aren't always the same).
He had 10.5 TFL and 7.0 sacks in 13 games as a freshman for the Hornets.
