Re: Most feared Dlineman?
From what I've seen in Spring, and from who I know is coming back for LU....
Jon Harris

Returning 1st team all MIAA. Not as big as Shepherd, but built in that mold. Has the ability to take over a game. He was moved inside last year so that offenses had a harder time scheming away from him.
Uchenna Egwuonwu

Transfer for U of Maine. Looked fast, athletic, a very hard to handle during spring ball. Will add another layer for opposing OLs to scheme against and take some pressure off of Harris.
Sabotka, Conners, Knox, and Davis should all be very solid as well.
True Freshman Tavian Weary could a factor as well if they don't redshirt him.

Overall, this is the most talented defensive line I remember LU having in a while. Defense should certainly take a step forward next year.Cool Story Bro

Re: Most feared Dlineman?
Maybe not the best this year but the duo Sterling Swopes (Sophomore) and Sheldon Schmidt (Junior) had good years last year and should be pretty salty for a couple more years. Of course it helped them having Shepherd take a lot of the pressure off.Last edited by EveryCatAWildman; 06-18-2018, 10:21 AM.

Re: Most feared Dlineman?
not sure about the guys mentioned cept one.
between sheppard, the pitt kid and the emporia kid, they had a grand total of 2 solo and 4 assisted tackles VS the CHO-line last season. out of this list (so far) the one we've had a BUNCH of trouble with is harris from lindenwood...he smoked us pretty bad. to the tune of 5 solo 3 assisted. id vote for him and a VERY close second, ill give to carson smith.

We'll need someone to step up on the other side or teams will just double him.

Re: Most feared Dlineman?
Ammons had 17.5 TFL and 8.5 sacks in 11 games as a sophomore last year along with four forced fumbles and six QB hurries (although not everyone keeps that stat and those that do aren't always the same).
He had 10.5 TFL and 7.0 sacks in 13 games as a freshman for the Hornets.
