Super sad to hear this. Prayers to the family.

This is why they have rules against being within 35 feet of train tracks. I was taking some photos on a train track and a BNSF little white focus pulled up and out hopped a guy who started to chew my a**. I thought he was a rental cop of some sort, found out pretty fast that no he's legit and that its a felony to be on train tracks. Walking, taking pictures, and etc. There is a 35 foot protected area around train tracks. It's called operation lifesaver. https://oli.org/ Had the cop not pulled over that day and luckily let me off with a warning, I'd never have realized some of the things about tracks. It's creepy how quiet trains are until they get past you as well.

So many commercial photographers take pictures on train tracks for the cool perspective and never realize they are committing a felony, and endangering lives.

Sadly, this happens all the time. Pedestrians and/or vehicles are hit daily on railroad property. Not nearly enough education about the dangers associated with trespassing (usually a misdemeanor) on railroad property, trying to beat trains at a grade crossing, going around gates, etc. I hope the young man is alright. He's fortunate to be alive, given the circumstances.

                          Re: UCO Starter Loses Foot

We used to walk the tracks all over Pittsburg when we were kids not realizing how dangerous it is.

I don't know even how to process this. It's just sad. My thoughts are with this young man, his family and team.
