I think it used to be the top non playoff NSIC team and the top non playoff MIAA team with the official invites. Last I checked the NSIC tie in is still there but they dumped the official MIAA tie in a few years ago and opened it up to anyone for the second invite.

Actually it was the MIAA that dumped the official tie-in last year, not the MWB.
