Has an interesting Bio at least. Now maybe he can actually scheme a game.

He's got a ton of experience on that side of the ball at every level of college football. Regardless of how it all works out, I'm glad Coach Wright didn't take the easy way out and automatically promote Joel to the OC job. I was wrong in thinking there wouldn't be much of a change to the status quo. Hopefully, he's a quarterback whisperer. :)

Joel was the OC....he was demoted back to QB Coach.

I realize that... I meant as in removing the co-offensive coordinator title and letting him man the position on his own. But yes, you are correct.

I bet JO is updating the resume.

I hear Abilene Christian is looking for a WR coach.

JO has never been QB coach. He was receivers coach up until this year but was RB coach this year.

ACU WR coach has been filled according to FootballScoop.

Reading some old stories about Coach Sturdy from his time at Eastern Washington and Washington State, his offenses were pass happy. 9th ranked pass offense in Division 1 the year before Leach took the reigns at WSU. It'll be interesting to see if he can turn Brayden Wright into and effective thrower. The other side of that is that with a new OC, it could be an open competition this spring too.

On paper, looks like a good get! If it is, hopefully the relationship between he an HCRW makes both want to stick around and rule at/near the top of D2 for a few more years!
