Pick'em Standings after Week 10

1 upset this week as 61% called Pitt. 9 members (BulldogLB, EveryCatAWildman, Gorilla John 92, GorillaTeacher, IfYouAintLope, Jayhawk Juco Guy, northwest missouri state, Rainy & TigerAlum) called Washburn and the other 5 favorites and took honors for the week at 6-0. Last week's co-leader, Shanghai Mule, called the wrong upset (CentralOK) and fell 2 games back of EveryCatAWildman.

Gorilla John 92 was the only 1 of the 3 that were a game back last week to go 6-0 and is alone in 2nd. John is only a game back but has to make up more than 1 game to be the champion. He missed the first couple of weeks and the Thursday night game in week 6 so he will lose the tiebreaker of overall wins (I refuse to reward not playing by using Winning %). If any of the 4 tied for 3rd make up a game on John they will move past him using the same tiebreaker.

Seems to me that if you don't play then you forfeit all the games where you didn't participate. Through week ten there have been 59 games and G-John (or whoever) only participated in 47. Thus you forfeit the 12 games where you didn't participate. So, G-John (or whoever) should be 40-19 (not 40-7).

Saw I was only 2 games back, and went to change my picks to make sure they are different than ECAWM. And it wasn't necessary. Champion, or loser..... For all the marbles!

No problems with how you are scoring this Randy. No one to blame but myself for missing the first two weeks. What really stings though is the Thursday night game that I missed as it was a gimme game. UGH!!!!

To be fair, it has been a lost season for Mules fans as we've stunk so it would only be fitting to have a good season of picking games go to waste as well.

Onto basketball....oh wait, the Mules suck there as well.. Go Jennies as on the men's side we have nothing to look forward to until baseball starts.

Mules score on 4th and 13 with under a minute to go and for some reason the UCO QB keeps throwing check downs and their 52 yd field goal comes up just short to end the game. They did lose three games in the final minute and tried to make it four but no moral victories for me as a loss is a loss. Oh well, there's always next year.

Predicting 2021 was a crap shoot because of the lost 2020 season. No one really knew who would be good or who would be bad given the limited information. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, but hiding in the weeds the first two weeks gathering intel would not be a bad strategy for 2021....just saying - haha

Sitting out those first 2 weeks probably cost him the title. EveryCat went 9-2 in those first 2 weeks. John was better than EveryCat in the final 9 weeks.

Congrats on almost pulling it off after spotting the field a two week head start (impressive). Sucks that you got tripped up by the Mules or you would have overtaken Everycat.

Looking ahead to next year the Mules will again have a front loaded schedule playing the top four finishers from this year right out of the gate. At Pitt, then home against Washburn, and then at NW and UNK.. Mules will probably be 0-4 when they play NE State on family weekend.

Thankfully we have the Jennies sports and Mules baseball to ease the sting of Mules football and basketball.

Went back through my picks and surprisingly my biggest folly was with Washburn - of the 13 losses i had, 5 are on Washburn games. Picked them to win 2 games they lost and picked them to lose 3 games they won. I also had way to much faith in FHSU - 4 times I picked them to win games they lost. I guess I shouldn't be to surprised preseason FHSU was picked 3rd and Washburn picked 7th and they ended up just the opposite.

I picked every Lincoln game right (duh) but also every MO Western game right - which them being a streaky 6-5 team is kind of surprising.
