QB talent was pretty dang high with Dorrel. Even though his recruits carried over, the drop off from a healthy Zimmerman to Baker was significant. Wright has talent, but hasn't improved that much in 3 years as a decision maker and passer.

One of AD's strengths was developing the scheme of his offensive game plan to his OL strengths as well has hiding their weaknesses, plus I think he got a lot more out of his OL than NW has seen since he left.

            That makes sense.

How many titles they have since AD left? It's not because of any change in the abilities of the defense.
AD was behind the scenes on the Defense. That was all RW in developing the Defenses that we had. I would say that this year is pretty darn similar to those of past

That is a big ole pile of Pasture Muffins. Sturdy has done a very good job of improving both Wright and Hohensee, along with the competition between those two. Wright has filled in very well since coming back from surgery. Hohensee filled in great for when Wright went down.

                  Silly statement.

Yeah, although he may have disappointed some with his development under Flohr and Osborn, this would've still only been his 3rd year playing even though it seems like he's been here forever. It's a little hard to know what kind of year Wright would've had with the new coordinator when we only got to see him in the one game against FHSU prior to his surgery. He's looked pretty good since coming back... I'd like to see him pull it and run a little more, but with Hohensee banged up, maybe they don't want him to.

Yeah, they're both good, talented players. They're not what we had under AD though either. A high bar to reach, but it's reality too. Wright hasn't improved that much as a passer over 4 years and hangs on to the ball too often. He played well filling in when he only had to throw the ball 15 times and looked both great and terrible against Harding. Hohensee is showing good things when healthy and given the chance. Could be really good.

I think Hohensee has a much higher ceiling than the other guy. Steadier, more accurate, and makes decisions more quickly. Jmo, though.

Hohensee is looking like a tremendous passer, over 70% completion. 75% if you count the other team. haha

Wright's two full seasons were just above 50% completion. It didn't seem to improve with time unfortunately. He still has great skills and flashes with his arm. But he also misses easy throws.

Wright coming out of fall camp as QB1 doesn't say much for the evaluation of the QB situation by the coaching staff. Hohensee resembles a historical NW QB. Wright had a long history prior to this season of being a woefully inaccurate, inconsistent, untrustworthy running QB that comically now refuses to run. Think Zac Dickey pre John Brown, but Dickey doesn't run.

Do you have any confidence Wright does anything other than be completely inept on Saturday? Ferris is laughing hysterically that NW is going to run him out there in Big Rapids for a 3rd time.

I hope he kicks ass. Reality says it's going to be ugly. He is going to have to run.
