Funny you mention the name....he was in for Winona and SW MN. He was in the group of finalists for SW but pulled out before final interviews. If he applied up North, I'd guess he surely applied at Central.

The Mules are in the process of hiring a new o-line coach so it gets a tad more interesting. The current staff was assured one more year with the new HC making the decision on who stays or goes after the 2022 season

they could also just slap an interim tag on one of those staffers they're bringing back if not satisfied w/ what's out there & do it all over again during a more attractive hiring window next fall. this yr's class is already doa. it will be pretty hard for any staff to recruit & tell kids they're going to be around longer than a yr regardless.

i would hire partridge in a second if i were them & i could but i also dk what else is out there. dude is still only 59. i figured older until i googled it

their roster online shows two true frosh & 4 rs's so that's a lot of young qbs. explains the 4-7 rather succinctly especially for a program that hasn't really ever played defense.

so coming off 4-7,

recruiting this yr's class w/ a coach w/ one foot out the door for most of it & then the last couple weeks literally w/o said coach - w/o looking at it doesn't take a genius to deduce that it might not be top shelf talent.

then they're playing this next season w/ a lame duck staff & recruiting the next class w/ it w/ or w/o a permanent hc in place.

all the while,

pitt's improving
co just made a hr hire
nk & wburn just made the po's & have good coaches.
hays has a good coach & program up & running

the mules could be down for awhile. thinking all of this over unless partridge wants the job or there's some hr hire out there idk about, going the interim route w/ one the remaining assistants & just riding the season out might be the right play b/c the next coach is going to need time to infuse the roster with talent.
