OBU has a sports media program, so the quality is pretty good, but it is still college kids running it. Their replay machine has been on the fritz, so don't expect too much there. The stream bitrate has been pretty rock solid this season, so you won't be watching a slide show at least.
Special note should be made of the commentators. They simulcast the radio announcers over the video, and they are quite the commentators.
Rex Nelson
Play-by-play for the Tigers for the past 39yrs - since he was an undergrad at Ouachita. He's been in local and state-level journalism, with interspersed stints in state and national government, for four decades. He grew up in sight of the football stadium, so yes, he is absolutely a "homer" in every sense of the word. He has various "Rex-isims" that come off as very yokel, but there's a vast ocean of football knowledge behind it all. He's very much the oral historian of OBU football of the past 70 or so years.
Dr. Jeff Root
Dean of the School of Humanities and Education having been on faculty for 30+ yrs. OBU grad (along with his wife, Dr. Deborah Root) whose dad headed up the English department for decades. He's been doing color commentary with Rex pretty much from the beginning when they were undergrads together.
So yeh, expect good commentary, but anything but unbiased.
