  • NW @ OBU - YouTube Livestream Link

The link for the game has been posted:

    https://youtu.be/OFV7JWu7YEM

OBU has a sports media program, so the quality is pretty good, but it is still college kids running it. Their replay machine has been on the fritz, so don't expect too much there. The stream bitrate has been pretty rock solid this season, so you won't be watching a slide show at least.

Special note should be made of the commentators. They simulcast the radio announcers over the video, and they are quite the commentators.

    Rex Nelson
Play-by-play for the Tigers for the past 39yrs - since he was an undergrad at Ouachita. He's been in local and state-level journalism, with interspersed stints in state and national government, for four decades. He grew up in sight of the football stadium, so yes, he is absolutely a "homer" in every sense of the word. He has various "Rex-isims" that come off as very yokel, but there's a vast ocean of football knowledge behind it all. He's very much the oral historian of OBU football of the past 70 or so years.

    Dr. Jeff Root
Dean of the School of Humanities and Education having been on faculty for 30+ yrs. OBU grad (along with his wife, Dr. Deborah Root) whose dad headed up the English department for decades. He's been doing color commentary with Rex pretty much from the beginning when they were undergrads together.

So yeh, expect good commentary, but anything but unbiased.

If you've ever watched the MIAA network, you'd know that as long as we can see an image on the screen, we can't really complain about the quality of the broadcast. lol I mean, we still will, but we shouldn't. ;)

Techy illiterate (mostly point/click/hope) here..if the stream is utilizing You Tube Live, will it archive so it can be accessed / rewatched later in the evening or not.

A HUGE hats off to the entire production crew representing OBU for making this OBU vs "Northwestern" (groan) game available to all the 'Northwest' Bearcat fans who couldn't make the trip down to Arkadelphia. I totally anticipated the forewarned "homerism" Northwest fans could expect from the Rex and Jeff Show .... and pleasantly surprised with the preparation this media team and these two gentlemen ... Rex and Jeff threw into this game ... excellent knowledge and incredible energy presenting the game for all of us! Loved these guys! Expected the cheesy and homerism ... but, got nothing but a class act! Really appreciated how you maintained your enthusiasm and your love for OBU (ha, as we were told to expect), but then keeping your play-by-play and color commentary so balanced for these two teams. Also, HUGE hats off to the camera crew! Great job! REALLY GREAT JOB! So much so many teams from the MIAA could learn from this OBU gameday presentation. Again, thanks for all that ALL OF YOU did to make this game so entertaining and fun to watch!
