To be fair there was a lot of people pleading for OC Sturdy to be let go. I think once that wasn’t done and the offense/QB play continued same trajectory and the defense finally wasn’t elite, it was inevitable to move up the food chain….But don’t worry if the state of other programs at NW are any indication Andy Peterson will not be letting anyone go (cough* Baseball cough*)

The last two consecutive losses were in 2017 (Pitt by 10, FHSU by 1). The last two consecutive losses by double digits were indeed in Coach T’s first year, 1994. In fact, of their 11 losses only 2 were by single digits, 5 points to Rolla and 7 to SBU in weeks 7 and 8.Originally posted by CATALUM View Post
Side Question - When was the last time we lost two straight regular season games by double digits? Start of the Mel Era?

IDK what you are talking about. Baseball is 75-125 in their last 200...Originally posted by Bearcat Moon View PostTo be fair there was a lot of people pleading for OC Sturdy to be let go. There has been some head scratching going on about his offense since he took over. I'd say most folks were hoping he'd right the ship on offense, but he hasn't and now it has become a big enough problem the defense can't cover for...plus the defense seems to be trending downward now too.Originally posted by reloadmvp View PostWhere was all this fire Wright talk the last few years….

the mistake (i think) was made with respect to recruiting. the last oc hire should have been made with as much deference to someone who can recruit talent as play calling, the offense broadly speaking, player development, etc. either that or he should have made additional staff changes. sturdy's (apparent) plan to bring in mid america nazarene talent is working out as well as you'd expect.
now we're at a critical juncture. idk what the school's appetite for patience necessarily is but i assume there isn't $ for a buyout sitting around anywhere, meaning dude's here for whatever the duration of the current pact is & has at least that much time to turn this thing around. hopefully he does, that would obviously be the best outcome.
also....one has to wonder what the internal thinking is - someone was on here last spring claiming that the staff was happy with the qb room & the talent in there. i can't remember who posted it, doesn't matter anyway, but hopefully that person was lied to, otherwise that is an alarming internal perspective given what we've seen thus far.Go Bearcats!

the concerning part with this, if true, is that they were playing two qbs last year that couldn't walk rather than playing the third sting guy. I was hopefully they just couldn't evaluate the talent they had in the locker room.

On a positive note basketball starts in less than 2 months and NW has been a basketball school since ‘17

We used to have crazy qb talent and depth. Remember how long it took Zimmerman to get a chance to start?
