Bout 20 other pages to provide just a little context. But ignoring it is cool too.

I'm honestly surprised some D1's haven't paired up with D2 schools to use them as farm teams, yet. The Tam system is already set up.. I think it'll start there.
Probably because D2 coach wants to stay employed would be my guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What you describe is already established with JuCo.

NW was 7-4 even with the stats he put up. Getting QB figured out is far, far more important than RB. Harris' frustrations in game during the season with what appeared play calling would lead you to believe he isn't on exactly the same page as Sturdy.

I get a feeling that a certain d1 coach in CO would do it that way.

The crappy schedule may have played a part in the attendance

                  According to the Box Scores...
2021 had the same home schedule (sans Lincoln)
2021 Total Attendance with 4 home games (Lincoln canceled) 27,062/6756.5 per game (the play off game vs Central Washington had 2,907...even without that game 4 games had almost 6,500 more total than 2023...
2023 Total Attendance with 5 home games 20,696/4139.2 per game the ESU game when the Cats were 1-0 3,715/ vs 2021 UCO Home Thursday Night game 8.531. FYI Lincoln had the highest attendance 5,215...even more than HC vs. Pitt 5,122

IMO that's a pretty fair comparison.

And once again, it raises the question: how do you retain and coach up talent in the transfer portal era?

                            • To be fair, you got 4 seasons out of him. The grad transfers were already somewhat common back before everything went crazy.

Everybody is at risk of losing good players...You have to keep restocking the cupboard with talented players.
