      • When was the last time NW lost a game by 28 pts? At this point 6-5 is probably the best scenario left(split with UCM/MWSU, beat NSU, lose to Pitt). Will 6-5 be enough for AP and President Tatum to end the Wright regime?

It may have seemed like a lot but to be fair, the visitors are set up in the smallest section in the stadium and "encouraged" to stay there.

I would say 50 -75 would be the max that could comfortably sit in there

          • Not so sure about any talk of firing HC Rich Wright. I think 'he' can be a good HC. Said it before, where he failed was stepping up to do the right thing for Bearcat football relieving his old friend OC Sturdy of his job before the start of this season. I strongly feel OL Coach Cunningham should have been let go, as well. QB's these past three years running for their lives being chased out of the pocket far too often. Not getting the push we need for our RB's. Harris' power saved him with his production last season. No question the three RB's this season, Tank Young, Dominic Myers and Jadon Brady are shifty quick backs who way too often create their own extra yards on the ground, especially when they go to the edge. Dominic Myers was having a hell of a game early for NW this past weekend against UCO and then just disappeared. Crazy baffled. Even the Central Oklahoma radio guys were talking really impressed with his speed and ability to create. Then, gone. Sturdy seemed to decide Dominic was getting too much attention. Again, just baffled by his disappearance in the second half.

So, I blame HC Wright for what seemed obviously clear among far too many that Sturdy has not been popular the past couple years. One thing I certainly don't like about replacing HC Wright at the end of the season that comes to mind is easily that NW also loses of one of the best DC's in NCAA DII. So, NW brings in a new HC. NW loses maybe the best DC in D2 football. Not ready to doubt Wright's ability to be a good HC. He just gotta step up for Bearcat football and harden the heart when it comes to doing the right thing with a couple friends on his staff. Then make sure he recruits the help (i.e. Coach T) to help him recruit the next OC and OL coach. Not saying our OL doesn't have the talent. Think the talent thing falls on the coach Mike C. About our NW RB's ... REALLY like the talent we have with these guys. Reminds me of the three 1970 Super Bowl KC Chiefs 'Mini-Backs', Warren McVey, Mike Garrett and Robert Holmes. All fast and explosive quick. The memories.

            • Wright was handed the keys to one of the most successful programs in D2. All he did was drain the oil and run it off a cliff. I certainly don't disagree with him being a great DC but that doesn't translate to a great HC. He should stay in his lane. Cunningham and Turdy Sturdy and complete Land Fill Fires. Sturdy's offensive schemes are that of Pee Wee football. Runke has to be in the top 10 for passing efficiency to THE OTHER TEAM. Northwest was clearly overmatched by a far superior talented UCO squad and AD has done a great job turning that program around this year.

              • Twice at the company I worked for a good Supervisor was promoted to Manager and later demoted back to Supervisor when they didn’t hack it. They both bit the bullet, let their egos go and stuck it out and went back to being good Supervisors. Maybe RW needs to return to what is best for the team(DC) under a new HC so NW doesn’t lose both a HC and DC if his contact’s not renewed. It wouldn’t hurt if the new HC would be a former Spoofhound.

it just doesn't work that way in college athletics. egos are too big.

he'll be fired whenever he's fired & then frankly if i had to guess will probably reunite with ad in edmond & kill it again as dc.

I believe its time to let the NW Tree fork a bit. Do a national search for a HC. If AD gets the chance and he will, he will bolt from Edmond.

possibly? I've talked to some. he's pretty satisfied where he is. built his own team and is building a legacy right now. you think if he could have taken any of the NW champ teams to D1 and won and kept winning he would ever leave Missou? I don't think he would have. now that he's been out of the fog of Maryville a while, I think his priorities have changed. he decided to hand the keys to his championship team over after a dust up with NW leadership (or whatever happened) and tried to go out and build a new brand for himself. after a few years, the ACU leadership didn't think he could do it and let him go.

now, whether it's because he hates your president and wants to prove to him that he should have listened to him... prove it to everyone else and himself he can replicate his NWMS success... or any other plethora of reasons.
He's now doing it his way and building his own team from scratch. with his own two hands. he's not just "watering the plants" anymore. he's digging the holes and planting the crops, watering it and weeding it. now he's waiting for the harvest after 2 seasons of hard work.

now, with all that being said, there is a LOT of effort from the school being put into this team since he got here. news channels are finally covering the team after being away for a decade or more. a lot of emphasis is being put on student attendance and being loud and proud in the stadium. money is being spent. social media presence is being hammered at every turn. i have no real clear vision or knowledge but i do have eyes and ears.
if he manages to turn this team into a NC and can continue that success, will the school (or can) they make that speculated jump to D1? with his team. the team he built.
He can prove to NW AND ACU leadership they were both wrong in one fell swoop.

laugh if you will but, ask yourself this. (i know the answer. you guys have mentioned AND discussed it many times on this very forum) could those back-to-back NW teams won on the D1 level?

will he leave UCO? nothing is absolute but i think he has bigger plans and opportunities like he's in now don't happen often at all.

I think one of the criticisms of AD before this year was he never proved he could build a program. He inherited a winner at NW and he stunk it up at ACU. He is showing now that he CAN be a program builder at UCO and honestly I’m scared ****less some FCS or FBS schools are taking note. You all always say UCO has the money so maybe we can pony up and pay him to stay.

Maybe his family likes living in Edmond over middle of nowhere Missouri? That could help too.

One last thing. Do NW fans think the only coaches that exist on Earth are AD and RW? Seems like they know no other options.

                              • Maybe the ACU situation will never get much better or AD could only do so much. Don't know him but UCO should be a good place until he gets another chance at the higher classifications. Might not even want that with all the transfers and the NIL headaches.
