      1-0! UNK 28, WSC 21

Great rivalry game and gutsy performance by the Lopers.

Harris: 165 yards and a TD
Scholting: Came off the bench and guided the offense amazingly, delivering 2 clutch rushing TDs in the 4th quarter
      Defense: 3 INTs

Thanks for posting all this! Saturday won't be easy vs Chadron State. I watched them play Northern Colorado super tough on Saturday.

I anticipate another defensive struggle like last year.

Quarterback Daron Brydon is out for Saturday's game against Chadron with a leg injury. Abram Scholting will make his second career start.

2-0 - Good Life Trophy winner - Nebraska D2 champs!

Always good to beat the Eagles. Looking at the box score, I don't think I've ever seen more even numbers. The plus-3 turnover margin and blocked punt made all the difference. On to MIAA play!

What can be expected from UNK this week when they head south to Hays?

They'll be feeling good after sweeping a pair of in-state rivals to open the season. I'd describe UNK as solid but unspectacular. They don't have any glaring weaknesses, but they won't really scare you in any area either.

I'd say the start of this year has sort of reflected last year in that the offense has struggled at times but has taken care of the ball decently (one lost fumble and an interception in an end-of-half hail mary situation). The defense will give up some big plays and long drives here and there, but they can also get after the quarterback and force turnovers (5 interceptions and a fumble recovery).

Isaiah Harris is one of the best running backs in the conference. He had a career-high 165 yards against Wayne, although Chadron did a better job of containing him (64 yards). Our starting QB will still be out for a few weeks at least, but Abram Scholting is a capable replacement. This will be his third career start, and he finished the game against Wayne. He hasn't necessarily stood out on the stat sheet but has shown potential as both a passer and runner. The wide receiver who has stood out is Jaden Jude, a transfer from UT-Chattanooga.

The defense doesn't have a stand-out player like they had last year in Q Felton, but it's just a solid group with a lot of playmakers.

In Hays, the defense will need to continue the early-season trend of forcing turnovers, and the offense will need to show a little more consistency and sustain some drives. They've been a little too stagnant at times for my liking.

Hays seems to have our number and finds ways to prevail against us, so I'd consider us underdogs for sure. Hopefully, we can keep it a game into the fourth quarter and see what happens from there.
