    Probably why he's leaving.

Important things to remember in the portal.

-Between 30-50% who enter, stay with their existing teams (varies across levels).
-People tend to stay, unless a scholarship is offered elsewhere.
-Entering portal allows a coach to pull a scholarship. Better be clear on your worth if you decide to shop around.
-Portal is full of players both overlooked, and players exposed. Not all transfers are upgrades.
-The window is only 2 weeks (Jan 2-16th) for winter. D1 playoff games will be real interesting if guys still playing, decide to enter.

I'm sure it depends on the talent of the player and the position situation the roster, but I'd imagine most programs don't hold a spot for anyone the enters the portal. You enter, you gone. If, a month or two later, the kid is still a free agent, talks can resume again. "Bet on yourself" can mean you crap out.

And the D2 portal has no window dates.

I honestly don't know if this all that much of a loss. Had no stats last year or this year.

Jordan Pigram from NW entered the portal. Projected starter for next season. This one hurts a little.

That one might hurt a bit...between him and the seniors already leaving - that accounts for all but 6 or 7 of Pitts rushing TDs for the season....

I hope he gets his due, but I also hope that if he doesn't get a D1 offer, he decided to come back. I am sure he would be welcome in the Crimson and Gold. Between him, a RS Freshman, and maybe another freshman we could have a stable of running backs next year. Big Qs on the DL with Hultz leaving, Big Qs at QB. We have a ton of green OL, though. Hopefully they've been learning and developing, and probably find a serviceable interior OL. Returning LT, and RG. Gone or LG, C and RT...(right now) Most our LBs should be back. Big questions at our safeties. Going to lose an AA safety in Rogers, and good rotations of King and Mederios. Losing Fuksa, who may get some looks in training camps, Cross who was a really good number 2 corner... Next year could be a blood bath of youth(lack of meaning full reps)

Don't be surprised if Berry is on the roster next season. NCAA eligibility appeal in process.

                          That would be awesome.

Maybe Tim Beck could give him the name of a lawyer. Lol.

Diego Pavia was 76yo when he fought Rocky Marciano. (Slight change to a classic movie line)
