NW is in a tough spot.
They obviously don't want to sign a terrible opponent who will hurt their playoff chances like Lincoln.

They may be able to look at Gulf South teams, but they may just choose to play one less game.

I assumed last year TAMUK & MSU-M would be home & home agreement. Is NW playing either of them this year?

They are playing Kingsville but the Mankato agreement was just a 2 year home and home contract.

I think NW Missouri and NE State would both make sense to give Valdosta a call especially after West Florida screwed over NE State as well.

Just seems like they would do whatever it takes to get that 5th home game, from a revenue standpoint. As it stands now, they only have 4 home games. Makes it harder to justify parking passes, season tickets, etc if the prices aren't adjusted.

Agree which makes it confusing on why UCO would agree to a road game against a current NAIA school that wont be D2 until late 2020s which only leaves them with 4 home games.

Northwest Missouri just posted their 2026 schedule. Looks like they waved the white flag on finding an 11th game for now.

That seems to have been their MO at times in the past.

I ‘put a bug in the ear’ of 1 of the NW assistants about how great a VSU @ NW game in ‘26/NW @ VSU game in ‘27 could be. Maybe NW could finally utilize their unused timeout(s)

Pitt is also doing night games this year.

Just following up on this? Any word on whether we're going to get that 5th home game?

I'm sure they're working on it. With only 4 home games without it, makes it tough on keeping the fans happy... especially suite holders who pay the same price for 4, 5, or 6 home games. That being said, at this late juncture, I'd be surprised if they pull it off.

It is frustrating. We have a new coaching staff, we made the playoffs, drew good crowds last year, and now we have one less home game.

I think I’d rather have only 4 home games that pay a D3 or NAIA team to play us. A renewal of former MIAA teams MSU or SEMO would be interesting though 😎

I agree with that for sure. And that does nothing for us with SOS come playoff time. But a team like Valdosta? That would be a legit game.
