2026 Schedules

Its probably a combination of travel and holding out for a home game.

Also the unknown of how many D2 GSC games (also Northeastern State) that West Florida plans to keep.

The no brainer would be for NW Missouri to schedule Lincoln (Yes I know they suck but that didnt hurt UTPB scheduling Adams State last year) and Valdosta reaching out to Northeastern State as they have shown they are willing to travel and some schools up northeast even if they dont count for D2 purposes.

From my understanding with NPI, “bad” wins are now removed from consideration in the calculations.

1. Tusculum doesn't have 2026 schedule posted but East Tennessee St does list Tusculum so Finchwidget is correct on that change.

2. NWFanatic posted he talked with athletic dept and brought up Valdosta but AD staff said it wasn't an option. Valdosta has probably already replaced Tusculum.

I think outside people keep making it sound like this is a no-brainer. There is obviously some issue preventing it. Maybe they are both holding out for a home game.

As I said previously, Valdosta AD Troy Katen worked previously at NW. If there was a possibility to make it work, I'm sure they would make it happen. A lot of fans, including me, would be all for it.

I am Definitely not saying it's a no-brainer for NW to play VSU. Just helping you with some schedule sources.

I'm sure it mainly boils down to not being able to agree with who gets the home game which year, o team not being able to do a home and home, etc...

Then again, it's a little tough to believe that VSU wouldn't do almost anything to secure enough d2 opponents to be eligible unless they're pretty sure of a pending waiver for the season.

Looks like they are keeping the Northeastern State game so that give Northeastern State 3 FCS games and 7 D2 games.

Inkblot is the rule still in place that a team must play a minimum of 8 D2 games to be playoff eligible?

the Northeasterner any rumors on that potential 11th game for the 8th D2 opponent?

Looks like this point Valdosta State and Mars Hill might be the only options available.

As far as I know that's still in place. It wouldn't surprise me too much if NSU was able to get a waiver due to UWF's late move up.

They have added a place holder on Oct 31 with a TBA road game at 2pm.

EDIT: The only opponent that would make sense here is Frostburg State.

The William jewel is sane week as Oktoberfest in tulsa they try and avoid the first three weekends In October. Tulsa state fair, Ou/Texas,Then Oktoberfest.

So an an oct 3rd date Is unusual. Now I wonder why they are going to on 27th

Not many ever want to play Northwest and, I'm sure, with only 4 home dates, they wanted a home non-con game. Until the GAC man's up, it'll be hard for several schools to find opponents.
