whats up guys! been a few months.
is everyone having as many problems with the portal as we are?
the regional schools around here seem to be using our roster as their personal practice squad.
weve lost our starting nose and a rotational linebacker to north Texas because the North Texas LB transfered to OSU. of course Puckett has gone to OSU to sit on the 2nd team defense behind him. with Puckett, OSU has taken our starting RB and one of the rotating WRs. this makes 3 WRs, a running back and a linebacker in 2 years to OSU. MOST of these kids have received money reportedly.
we lost one of our projected starting (at least 2 deep) olineman to OU. and 2 years ago we lost our punter to OU.
we lost a 2 deep WR and punt returner and projected starter to Texas Tech for baseball. apparently hes draft material. never had Patrick Mahone money on my bingo card. kid told me personally that he received "a few bucks for the transfer"
along with our starting nose, we lost 2 "expected" rotational dlineman transfer out. one to ACU and the other to Louisana Monroe (i think).
1 transferred to NWMSU and i THINK he's a starter at oline for them a QB transferred to Pitt state last season.
it's just ridiculous to see how many kids have been stripped from our roster in the last three years. i guess it's a product of the coaching staff. its good and bad problem to have i suppose.
on a sad note, we lost Curlee who has been our offensive coordinator since 21 and won the d2 coordinator of the year in 24. noone (outside of the staff im sure) is positive but as of now, Dorrel will be calling the plays. he was pretty broken up when he announced it at the spring game. the OC has had his wife battling cancer for the last year and a half. nothing has been working for her and a couple of weeks ago she was sent home with a few weeks to few months left. Curlee is 31 and i guess shes a year or two younger than him. they have two boys under 6 or 7 maybe.
gonna be a tough season schedule wise. at txwes, bye then to ark central then to washburn. we wont see the home field until almost october and only 4 home games. that sucks for senior season. really the worst.
positive note to all of this change for us is, we beat southern nazarene 56-10 or something along those lines. can't remember if they scored again late or not. beating them is two fold really. we only scored 24 or so last year and it shuts them up on message boards for another year they arent exactly a GSC powerhouse but, it was a different team to hit and not many logistical decisions to be made.
we'l l see. have a good summer. cant wait till August to get here.
