I tuned into radio 15 minutes after regulation ended. Announcer said at noon that the temperature on the field had to be below 92.5 degrees for the game to resume. I don’t see that happening on the plains before 9 pm tonight.

Indeed not. Due to that fact, the game has officially ended in a 16-16 tie.Originally posted by OldBison View PostI tuned into radio 15 minutes after regulation ended. When did that become a rule? If that is true the Pitt game won't start until about 10pm.Originally posted by OldBison View PostI tuned into radio 15 minutes after regulation ended. Fox crew doing the Indiana/North Texas game said the temperature on the field is 152 degrees. I'm assuming that is measuring the heat coming off the turf.

My guess is that Mines had it as part of their agreement. According to Pittsburg radio , Mines was willing to cancel if Washburn didn't move it to an early AM start.

I heard that too. I created a thread about this on the main forum, before I thought to check this forum.Originally posted by PSR View Post

I understand the concern over hydration/player safety and considering fans as well... but still. They should just play it out, hose down the players with sprinklers (literally) and give out free water to fans.

I believe that wet bulb temp is why Hays game was pushed back on Thurs just a couple hours before the originally scheduled kickoff timeOriginally posted by Predatory Primates View Post
Rules are up to the conference, and games can be suspended for high heat, but they use wet bulb temp, not field temp.
