  • Hennessey signs with Italy's Parma Panthers

CWU quarterback Reilly Hennessey is heading to Italy to play for the Parma Panthers. Located in Parma in Northern Italy midway between Milan and Bologna. I think IFL teams are only allowed 2 American players on the roster. Usually the QB and the RB or WR.

Getting paid to play football in Italy seems like a nice gig. Hope he takes advantage of his time there.

I remember Ed Watson, RB for CWU back in the 80s, played some foosball in Italy.

Good on ya, Reilly! Dai calci culo e prendi nomi!

Believe that is the general rule in Europe. Got to see a former Pueblo RB go dominate in Austria and Germany, one of the best experiences of his life. Best of luck to Reilly.

Go to YouTube and watch Hennessey's game at Oregon. He was unreal, easily the best player on the field, well, maybe Cooper Kupp was the best player. I'm surprised EWU didn't have plans for him, other than that Gabrud was a great QB, too. But if you watch that UO video you will be stunned. The Pac-12 broadcasters were heaping praise on him. As good as Gabrud was (injured much of this year), wondering if he's better than Hennessey. Saw Gabrud light up WSU; and Hennessey equally lit up the Ducks.

Gabrud was certainly the best player EWU had. I don't think EWU has any regrets. Just like Tua and Hurts or Lawrence and Bryant. All great QBs but college sports is college sports. Great to see everything ended up working out for Hennessey in the end.

Here is another nice article about his new gig in Italy: https://www.dailyrecordnews.com/spor...456981743.html

Barcelona is not in Italy. It is in Spain.

Barcelonans would say they are in Catalonia. In Catalan of course.

It is still in Europe! I thought we were talking CWU players that had played overseas. In trying to find out which NFL Europe team he had played for, ESPN article I found wonders if that season there is what got him the backup job to Moon in Seattle after being on the practice squad the year before. I miss NFL Europe for that reason, it was a way for players to develop themselves to make rosters.
