  • Azusa Pacific Transfer Tracker

While it appears Azusa Pacific announced its intention to honor football players' athletic aid despite cutting the program, a large population of APU football players elected to forego their scholarships and transfer elsewhere.

Here's the list of who's transferring to continue their playing careers, based off of what I was able to find on Twitter:

    Joseph Marino (DL): Houston Baptist
Michael McDonald (LB): University of Redlands
    Vincent Rollins (DL): Lamar University
Lee Pitts (DB): University of Sioux Falls
    Matthew McRoskey (DB): Colorado Mesa
Gil'Scott Jackson (RB): Olivet Nazarene University
David Session (WR): Arizona Christian University
    Payton Mitchell (LB): Davenport University
    Leighton Bateman OL): Lindenwood University
Eric Esquer (OL): Austin Peay State University
    Aaron Ramirez (OL): Colorado Mesa
Noah Gonzalez (DB): Dixie State University
    Seth Broussard (LB): Valparaiso University
Spencer Luce (LS): Southern Methodist University
Josh Olave (DB): Weber State University
Dakota Ridgeway (WR): University of La Verne
    Xzavier Ford (RB): Houston Baptist

It's exciting to see athletes able to continue careers at any level - especially those who were able to continue at the D1 or D2 level. From my count, I was able to find eight former Cougars heading to new homes at the FCS level or higher. I'm sure there will be more as some of the playmakers (Brandon Jackson and Jasiah Richard-Lewis) and big body linemen (Tim Dolan and Michael Malepeai) appear to be uncommitted. Please add any others that you have seen; I probably missed at least a few.

I live in SoCal and I'm sorry that AP dropped it's football program. But I'm glad you shared the list of players that caught on with other schools. I wish them well.
