  • GNAC Signing Day 2021

The thread for all GNAC signing day updates!

CWU just reeled in an o-lineman from Oaks Christian in Kekoa Pele-Allen, who picked Central over D1 offers from Cal Poly (Coach Baldwin!) and Idaho.

Westview HS Twitter announced DB Jalen Owens signed, but did not mention Jalen Grable yet. Yesterday he picked up a PWO offer from Oregon, so I hope he doesn't flip his commitment!

Glad you got the thread started. With most D-1 guys now signing in November, we can focus on D2 in the traditional February slot.

Here is my updated list of all of CWU's recruits: https://cwucrimson.blogspot.com/2020...uits-2021.html

CWU also signed WR Logan Brady from Steilacoom. He was part of a super loaded offense that included 5 star OSU Buckeye Emeka Egbuka, QB Chance McDonald heading to Western Kentucky, and another receiver heading to Air Force Academy. CWU signed Bellevue DL Matulino Masunu, an All-State and Star Times player as a junior. Also signed Skyline QB Daniel Buxton.

A smaller class, as expected. But still some nice talent that includes D1 guys who got hurt not playing that senior year. Still waiting to hear from Jalen Grable, who is probably thinking hard about that PWO from Oregon.

Looking at the WOU coach's Twitter account to see all their updates. They signed a 3 star 6'5" 300 lb lineman Keenan O'Donnell. Ranked as the #17 recruit in Oregon. Picked up a 6'5 QB in Jayden Wilson. Multiple linebackers and DBs. Nice looking mainly in-state group from Oregon.

As for he Burnaby Football Team, they got a good one in Mountlake Terrace RB Jordan Sims. Also signed Lakes lineman Maliq Washington. But other than that not much to report right now looking at Twitter.

Rocky Mountain HS linebacker Justin Douglas has signed with CWU! He moved from California to Idaho to play a senior season and is ranked as the #10 class of 2021 recruit in Idaho by 247 Sports. He picks CWU over 7 other offers including Idaho State, Northern AZ, Eastern New Mexico, and C of I.

Looks like a strong in-state class for Western Oregon. Over the years their bread and butter has been their ability to find real quality Oregon kids from big and small schools and it looks like this is what they did today. Some real excellent players from all over the state including portland, and various small towns. The out-of-state guys look pretty quality, too.

                WOU: https://wouwolves.com/news/2021/2/3/...-day-2021.aspx

31 recruits which is double the amount of CWU. I wonder how they were able to pull that off. Many must be partial or PWOs.

Looks like they found a big d-lineman from Alaska, Isaako Manuwho is ranked a 3-star, #1 recruit in Alaska. JJ Neece from Mapleton will be at LB for WOU but looks like he was also a dominant offensive all-purpose back too. They reeled in a 6'4" WR in Hidden Valley's Lawrence Matusik. Got a 3rd QB in Toledo's 6'6" Jaxon Rozewski who passed for 5720 yards and 67 TD in his 3 high school seasons. But it really looks like they went all in on defensive players. Looks like a great signing class.

As for Simon Fraser, they still haven't announced their signing class so it isn't looking too good as they are trying to round up some players.

Great stuff CWU Nation and Single Malt. Yes, D2 football still exists on the West Coast, providing opportunities for dozens of talented kids. I miss the APU and Humboldt signing days, usually stacked with great Cali kids. Too bad APU quit; too bad HSU got screwed over by a bad president after raising the proper amount of money. Hopefully it can come back some day.

One piece of bad news for CWU. 6'4" Westview (OR) WR Jalen Grable is flipping his commitment from CWU to Oregon, after he received a preferred walk-on offer from the Ducks. As a UW fan growing up, I dislike the Oregon Ducks. As a CWU fan, now I dislike them even more! Still wishing him the best and a great opportunity to join a prestigious football program.

Bummer, I like to see as much talent in the GNAC as possible. Great piece of recruiting by CWU. Chances of making it out of school like Oregon as a walk on are very tough, hope makes it.
