  • Lincoln Schedule Released

    https://twitter.com/LincolnUnivFB/st...68524556488709

A mixed bag including AZ Christian, Whitworth, Willamette, then an FCS team SF Austin, then their D2 slate rest of the season. Not sure if any of these will be home games, or if all will be on the road. Still no athletics website yet, so no roster. I imagine tons of Juco players and bounce backs. Hopefully we can add them as a GNAC football member next year and just maybe Humboldt State will be more encouraged to bring back football now that they have a new Northern Cal neighbor.

Good schedule, came up with a 10-game slate first season. I don't care about alphabet soup -- FCS, D2, D3 -- play freaking ball. WOU should play EOU and SOU every year, but I'm sure there's some bizarre playoff metric that prevents that for all 3 teams. Good grief.

Props to Lincoln for starting football; welcome to West Coast small college football and thank you for not taking your cues from Humboldt State and Azusa.

AZ Christian easily beat Lincoln 33-9. The ACU commentators mentioned they were not provided with any roster or team info for Lincoln. And there is no box score on the website. So we still know absolutely nothing about this Oaklanders team!

They need to get there other things in place like sports information, and marketing. If they don't have the money to hire those people than they should put some work-study students in place. I applaud their efforts in starting college football, but a lot goes into that.

I guess Lincoln proved me wrong - they did take a snap in 2021.

Then again, so did Bishop Sycamore, so we'll see what the future holds.

They'll finish the season unless they get too beat up. I applaud them for trying, not quitting like Azusa, WWU, and Humboldt.

Their biggest opponent this season could be bankruptcy since the feds finally kicked their accreditor to the curb back in June - we'll have to wait and see if their current arrangement holds. Surprisingly, it doesn't look like their owner has been sued in a while though. Things might be looking up!

Their game against SFA is one I definitely intend to keep an eye on. Curious to see if SFA's starters even show up for the game, honestly.

Last weekend Lincoln narrowly lost to Whitworth 29-31. Their QB Cameron Burston (transfer from Tarleton State) threw 4 picks.

Leading tackler for Lincoln was Emmit Gooden. He played for Tennessee and was featured in Last Chance U before being dismissed from the team after arrest for felony domestic assault (pled to a misdemeanor)

Lincoln shall be known as "Bounce Back U" or "Wash Up U"

Looks like Simon Fraser transfer Solomon Hines now plays for Whitworth.
