Wow, you spent a lot of thought and energy into this. WAC Commissioner Hurd is in his late 60s and I do not believe he has any clout to pull this off. The WAC needs new leadership just as the LSC did when things started falling apart. The WAC needs to stop being a stepping stone for call ups. Cal Baptist is another fine example. Once they clear probation, here I come WCC. Everyone in the WAC is looking for a way out at the present time with the exception of Chicago State. They will just implode this year or next. A WAC FCS conference of D2 call ups would hopefully stabilize the situation as long as the schools have a history of playing each other and are at least regionally connected. You only need 6 for a playoff bid. If created UTRGV would definitely get football started. My guess is that NMSU would continue on indefinitely as a FBS independent until the Mountain West finally lets them in.

'Not so fast' as Lee Corso would say. The Aggies had an exemplary season (7-6) and won their post season Bowl game against Utah State in the Arizona Bowl. Ironically the Aggies last Bowl game was in 1960 against the same Utah State Aggies.

New Mexico State got booted from their football-only Sun Belt Conference membership. Their all-sports membership in the WAC is still intact and they're probably the cornerstone member of that league right now.

Grand Canyon is doing very well

UMKC is still D1 for now

New Mexico State still hopes for an invite from an FBS conference

Seattle still hopes to go to the WCC

UTRGV is the only D1 school that I don't have a cap from........yet. Oops- I need a Cal Baptist one now too.

Utah Valley is a school that I know very little about

UMKC would go to the Summit if they would take them back. Travel is killing them. Or they could drop to D2.

I haven't heard much about Chicago State lately but no one in Illinois wants to face the fact that they should merge them with another school like Governors State University.
