Re: Worst calls by officials in LSC
When we played UIW in 2016, the refs made horrible call. They ran an option play to the right side that our defense read perfectly. Rather than take a loss of yards their QB threw it out of bounds as he was being tackled. Since their WR was run blocking our DB, the ref thought it would make sense to call us for Pass Interference even though the ball sailed out of bounds. After the boos silenced, one Javelina fan yelled "HEY REF!!! YOU'RE MISSING A REALLY GOOD GAME!!!" Our entire side of the stands and some of the players on the sideline just burst out laughing.Originally posted by Runnin' Cat View PostWe have a horrible shortage in Montana as well. Our overage age is now 62. When I started we had 67 in our pool. We are down to 46.
I tell my friends that if you are going to heckle me, use something original. "You suck" has been uttered many thousands of times. Bring something good!
I white hatted a sub varsity game several years back, 9AM start on a Saturday (after a varsity game the night before that involved a 2 hour drive back home). On the last play of the game, a team scored a TD to close within the PAT of tying the game. Kicker missed the kick. A group of parents followed us to our vehicles, berating us the entire time. I turned around and said that there would be no good outcome for anyone if they came closer. I mean, this is Montana; what do you think we have in our pickup trucks?
Good job on thanking your officials. And good job to you for coaching!

Re: Worst calls by officials in LSC
What about season after season disparity. For the last two seasons ENMU opponents have been the least penalized in the LSC only being penalized on average 35 and 53 yards a game respectively in 2017 & 2018 in LSC games. The least penalized teams in the LSC are averaging more yards in penalties than ENMU opponents in both years. So teams that averaging a league BEST 58 yards a game to a league WORST 125 yards a game are on average only being called for 44 yards a game vs ENMU for 2 seasons. Every team in the league all of a sudden commits LESS Penalties than their average the week they play ENMU, furthermore they commit less penalties on average than the LEAST penalized team in the LSC the week they play ENMU??? Those numbers simply dont add up.Last edited by gohounds; 11-02-2018, 05:00 PM.

I think some of that comes from 2 things:Originally posted by gohounds View PostWhat about season after season disparity. 1 pass interferance penalties, Eastern throws less than everyone and is usually throwing to wide open recievers.
2 chop/illegal block penalties. I promise every coach in this conference approaches the officials before the kickoff about watching those "dirty" "dangerous" blocks from eastern.
Against UTPB I was pleased to see an offensive pi penalty called. Those dont get called enough in todays game. Too msny times a big reciever can drive block a corner back, push off, sometimes pushing the corner down and make a catch, and if the miss it get a PI call against the defense.
Spread coaches throw the go route on the sideline alot cause its low risk, either they dont complet the pass, the complete it for a big gain, or if the defender even bumps the reciever they are going to get a pi call for 15. 2 out of 3 are positive for the offense.I have fat thumbs sorry for typos!

I think it's a vast right-wing conspiracy against our neighbors to the left! (At least based on their position on the map.)Originally posted by gohounds View PostWhat about season after season disparity. In football, 2-3 seconds is an eternity.Originally posted by Boohaha View PostThe miked up white hat said clipping. swiped 1 hand at the back of his knee for clipping.
It was a quick dive up the middle, play took less than 3 seconds.
Clipping is from behind, below the knee on initial contact if its by a lineman the physics of that is nearly impossible within 2-3 seconds.
Anyway this was a roast the refs thread feel free to add your own story!

Re: Worst calls by officials in LSC
Not complaining about calls against ENMU. They are actually about middle of the pack in penalty yards just lack of penalties called on their opponents. 30 more on ENMU this year than their opponents. All the other teams in the LSC are within 10 and ENMU is -30 even though they arent one if the most penslized teams.. Doesnt add up.

Wrong. Rolling up on the legs of a defender after a block is also clipping and can happen in a second.Originally posted by Boohaha View PostThe miked up white hat said clipping. swiped 1 hand at the back of his knee for clipping.
