Yep, I'm Sportsvine, not Beaver. Don't know how you could confuse that as it clearly says my screename with every message I post. But... if you want to attempt to attach whatever nickname you feel like, feel free.

            LSC Attendance: Week 1

WT - 10,145 (Nice turnout for opening game at a brand new stadium)
A&I - 8,517 (Nice turnout considering our record the last two years)
Tarleton - 8,334 (Away game at FCS - Stephen F. Austin)
            Commerce - 7,319
MSU - 7,010 (Away game at FCS - Northwestern La.)
            UTPB - 3,858
Angelo State - 3,230 (Not bad for a Thursday night game)
            ENMU - 2,216
WNMU - 1,520 (Away game at DIII - Ottawa AZ)

This seems fairly accurate actually. I know I got in with a student ID, they didn't scan my card but they may have clicked the "student" counter, can't be for sure. I actually think we draw better on Thursday nights because we don't have to compete with the TV games.

Thanks for the response and participation. The LSC is definitely up there as a whole tops in D2 for attendance, although perhaps some MIAA teams might draw as well, but the overall D2 attendance crown for week 1 might go to Grand Valley State with over 14,000.

To answer your question, Beaver is Beacer. Apparently you're Beaver. If we can't trust you to remember who you are, how can we trust your math?

Not terrible numbers for the Rams. And seems mostly accurate. The visitor side was sparce but the home side was mostly full. So if the visitor side holds 2500 and the stadium holds 6500 that seems about right.

I went to the Tarleton game. They're reporting that the entire stadium now seats 9,000-10,000 (depending on the source) and there weren't but about 50 on the visitor's side. Not sure how they came up with that number. It was a nice crowd, but I don't think there were more than about 5,000 there.

Again, as has been pointed out, you don't know if they are reporting butts in seats or paid attendance, or a combination of the two with an extra 2.500 thrown in there.

I know that MSU (not picking on them because a lot of schools do the same thing, as you pointed out for Tarleton) also will report around 8,000 to 9,000 for most of their games, but if you look at the stadium, which seats 16,000, evenly split on each side, you will see 300 or so on the "visitor" side and good attendance (around 60% to 70%) on the "home" side. That would make actual people in attendance around 6,000 or so, which is still good, but no where near what they report.
