All in all a good performance from the Rams. We aren't on that level yet, but we aren't far off. If a couple of deep balls had connected early that would have changed things. Defense played great all night holding that offense in check. We aren't deep enough or good enough yet to not play perfect games against teams like Tarleton to win. We have to play perfect to win, and we didn't. The last Tarleton drive was an absolute machine. That is exactly what Tarleton needed and exactly what ASU had to prevent; but the big bodies up front for Tarleton and the big backs for Tarleton came through.

One thing that I think could get Tarleton beat is the stupid penalties, the drive extending personal foul type penalties. Several have said it but 108 yards of penalties against a good playoff team will get you beat.

ASU is light years ahead of last year and appear to have the desire to actually play these games. There is fight there and some fire in the belly. Was a good measuring stick for ASU seeing as how they hadn't played anyone near as good as Tarleton all year. And I think everyone needs to realize that MSU-Texas is not in the same stratosphere as they were last year, especially on offense. They aren't a very good football team.

The whistle does not have to blow to have a play stop. In fact, there are many times that a play ends without a whistle.
