  • Marcus Jones named finalist for Gene Upshaw Award

    https://angelosports.com/news/2018/1...haw-award.aspx

Markus has a good shot at winning after looking at some of the other finalists numbers. He seemed to have the most dominant season.

Pdf press release is attached to article and has other finalists.

This is awesome! Congrats to Markus. I knew he was really good, but I guess I took for granted how good and how disruptive he was

This may help with the Harlon Hill award...brings some validity to the numbers he put up

A DL has never won the Harlon Hill. The only defensive player to win it was Ronald McKinnon, LB from North Alabama.

                          Thanks for the info Hog.

So Marcus would be a very long shot AND be the FIRST if he wins.

I am pulling 100% for the paradigm to be broken!!

Since its inception in 1986, the winners have either been a QB or RB with only two exceptions. A WR won it in '91, and the LB mentioned above in '95.
