Major CONGRATULATIONS to Allen High School's own Kyler Murray who won the Heisman.

I am NOT a Sooner fan.....by any stretch of the imagination....but I am a HUGE Kyler fan. Have been since he was 8 years old.

From youth football on, it was very obvious that Kyler was going to be a very special athlete. I remember how this little tiny kid would sit and study film with great intensity while the other kids would leave the media room and run outside to play and goof off.

I could not think of a more deserving young man.

Also CONGRATS to Kevin & Missy. Job well done.

He has signed a $4.66 million dollar contract with the Oakland As after being drafted in the first round of the MLB draft.

Getting paid to play baseball doesn't make him ineligible to play college football though. I know he's said he's going to play baseball, just haven't heard for sure if he's not playing football next year.

Yes. He reports to the Oakland A's Spring camp after the Bowl games.

He would like to play in both MLB & NFL, but under his current contract he can not.

I heard something on the radio this morning saying the 28th pick in last year's NFL draft made twice as much as his Oakland A's contract is worth. This might get interesting.

It depends on how you look at it. It is somewhat of an apple/orange situation.

One consideration is that baseball offers a lot longer career on average.

If he is that good, oakland will bend, NFL will pay him way more money, they would be stupid not to adjust. He will make them a TON in jersey, merch, and ticket sales.

Yes. Without hesitation.

Things aren't always as they appear. Lets just say there are a lot of moving parts.....and Carthel left just at the right time.
