It gets better. Was told last night McCowan has a freshman son who was on the AHS Varsity football team this year. Freshman normally are not on Varsity football rooster. The football coach is the AHS AD.

Not sure what will change other than possibly McCowan resigning from the AISD Board. Several key leaders at AISD either have children attending or graduated from AHS. The AISD AD Thiessen was the football coach before being promoted. Their lack of support of Clement showed their true colors and what they feel is important.

Do not understand why the AISD is pushed out a good coach with principles and ethics when they allow coaches who run programs that consistently do win, run toxic cultures and have high player attrition rates to continue coaching.

We must be speaking about Amarillo ISD school board member Renee McCowan. She has two girls on the AHS volleyball roster.

If y'all are gonna loosely use terms like "AHS" or "AISD".....please clarify you are speaking of lil ol AMARILLO....because THE AHS or AISD is OWNED by THE best......Allen High School & Allen Independent School District.......just sayin.

Until reading your post, was under impression everyone in Texas knew there are no parents or administrators talking to a coach or indirectly exerting pressure on any Allen Independent School District coach about team composition or playing time. This is clearly just an Amarillo issue.

Actually, there were 2 other freshmen listed on the AHS roster, and neither seem to have a tie to an existing board member. The board member does have a nephew on the team as a junior.

The good thing is that her term is up in 2022, and all of her kids will be out of school by then. I guess she can try to be appointed to the college board of regents and see if she can wield her power there.

Apparently Commerce and ENM had a big ruckus. ENM is playing the second half with only four players and TAMUC had a couple of players ejected. Anyone know the rest of the story?

I was told at the game today that the students at AHS had verbally harassed the 3 children to the point that they had to leave school and did not return the rest of the week. This is just wrong but teens can be so cruel. These children should not have to suffer for the actions of their mother
