The 6A Big 1 does have this size acroos the line. Of course your Center is not that big (usually). And there are the rare 6'6+ and 5'11 guys too.

The average is going to drop as drop down divisions....but I have seen 6'7+ OL at 2A....but NOT the "average". But you stated that 6'3 275 was "massive for hs", and that is simply no longer the case.

If you're recruiting many OL that make 6'3 275 seem massive then you're in trouble.

I agree with Techster, and I looked up average O-Line sizes in college football. I didn't fact check this guy, but anecdotally what he writes lines up with what I think I've often seen. Based on the below link, this kid is a high schooler who is already close to the average size of a starting lineman for a top 10 D2 team as of 2016. He should grow more as he ages, and now can be put in a better S/C program as well. Sounds like from purely size perspective he is larger than the norm. Regarding talent, as Pops said if he is so much larger than the average D2 recruit then why is he not going D1?

Hey brother, thanks for that link. VERY INTERESTING. So the average DII OL is 6'3 290 lbs & D1 OL 6'4 300 lbs. So, a 6'3 275 lb HS Sr that moves on to college ball is more the norm than the oddity. Really interesting.

As far as talent.....if a player is a two way "Superman" that one needs to brag about, then he IS a TOP D1 recruit. If he is a DII recruit, something is wrong (grades, talent, trouble......SOMETHING).

LOL, 6'3 340 lbs yeah sounds likely. I'm well aware of what a good S&C program can do, I would guess much more aware than yourself. But ok.

IMHO, each young man reaches his peack at different times. Some guys hit top height by 14 or 15 and others keep growing until 18 or 20. As far as weight...I mean the skies the limit, but a well conditioned HS Sr will probably put on 15 to 20 lbs during his college career IF it is lean muscle. Thats an average.

Then of course you have cases like Jay Ratliff, who came to Auburn as a tight end, went from 230 lbs to 280 lbs and then was a 300 lb DT for the Dallas Cowboys..... or Sen'Derrick Marks who went from 250 lbs to 300 lbs and was a 2nd round draft pick for the Tennessee Titans. Then you got Alabama's Chris Samuels, who busted up from 260 lbs, as a college freshman, to 310 lbs when he signed with the Redskins.

So, yes, guys can gain 50+ lbs during a full college career, but it is VERY RARE.

No wonder CSUP is a top tier team in D2 with linemen that size. I would hate to be feeding those guys on a daily basis.

I was only listing underclassmen to show that 275 in high school isn't massive. Big? Yes. Not massive.

Pueblo will be skewed by the Baylor transfer that is listed at like 360 (was closer to 380 in reality) if I include upperrclassmen. He will be down to around 340 for the 2019 season, if he can do that he will make a lot of money playing on Sundays.

And no fight in this dog, I'll take a look at the 2 deep and see what Pueblo's average from those who saw the field was. Won't be too different as they were pretty young along the OL. I'll post results when I get a chance.

Pueblo has at least 3 commits who are bigger than the mentioned massive player at 6'3 275. This in a recruiting cycle that doesn't have them going after many OL due to current depth. You can bet every good D2 program is getting kids bigger than 6'3 275.

4 days left for teams to make their final "sales" pitches.....EVERY coach, GA, AD, and everyone in between should be recruiting HARD. There is NO SLEEPING for the next 4 days.

Dead period starts 7 a.m. on Monday 2/4 & ends 7 a.m. on Wednesday 2/6.....

It was enjoyable to watch Saban & his Crimson Tide get their rear ends handed to them. Disappointed that Clemson did not score another TD, instead took a knee, in the final minute when they were in the Red Zone.
