Already happened a few hours ago. Bars shut down 100%, places to gather at river floating destinations 100%, and restaurants scaled back to 50%.

With this virus and people's non-compliance, We might not have football this year. The next 30-45 days should predict footballs future in 2020.

          Was he?

Many people are saying the same thing. Even heard about hs coaches "suggesting" the same thing.

I just saw numbers from The National Center of Health Statistics: June 20

            U.S. Cover Fatalities..107,997

            75+ ..............................64,683

            Under 25...........................160

Confirmed Covid cases by June 20 (best info I could find) was 2,222,576.

The fatalities for those under age 25 from Covid are infinitesimal. 160 / 2,222,576 = .000072

As of 22:15 today 7.3.20, Texas reported 7,343 new cases. Hospitals are filling up and ICU beds are reaching a max. The vast majority are under 50.

Deaths of over 60 have dropped drastically. The elderly are not the ones getting sick. The line share has been 30 and under during the past 30 days.

This virus is NOT going anywhere. And until an effective vaccine is readily available, we are living a NEW norm.....and that does not include spectator sports any time soon.

Now the NFL has cut all but two preseason games (3 for the Cowboys). Not looking good.

Dude, less than 15 percent of hospitalizations statewide are COVID. The rest are in for something else, like 3 months worth of elective surgeries that were deferred. Hospitals run at or near capacity by design. You should know this since you are in the field. They merge and acquire until consistently full occupancy is achieved, just like hotels. The death rate is declining as fast as the new cases are rising. The vulnerable caught this early and often. Texas will reach a death rate of reported cases of 1 percent or less within the next two weeks. And since CDC says that we have likely 10X actual cases versus reported, that will put your death rate at one tenth of one percent. You work in a hospital, where those one tenths end up. That's your world. Sick and dying are in hospitals, with all sorts of strange and dreaded things.

I can't argue with ignorance. Arguing this with you is like trying to explaining to a 3 year old why 1 AM is morning even though it's still dark. You just CAN'T GET IT.

You are ALWAYS right and we will just leave it like that.

Don't forget to brush your teeth and say your prayers before bed. "Nite Nite Herbie".

Pops he threw out real numbers there. Being "on the front lines" you should easily be able to produce contevening numbers.

                      Instead you attack his character.

Its the same ole story with the corona fear porn peddlers either believe what I believe is important and necessary or your a selfish idiot.

is it 15% or is it more in ICU?

Address the rest of his case in which he used factual data to present his argument. Dont be lazy. Otherwise your just another voice crying 2 WEEKS JUST WAIT 2 WEEKS AND THE SKY WILL FALL!!

I've been waiting 2 weeks for months now and all I've seen is people starting to lose houses, businesses, marriages, one little boy in Hobbs NM committed suicide. The ABQ journal published a front page article today talking about all the people that have died from suicide and neglect because of the quarantine.

Another friend works in lubbick at the childrens hospital has said they are seeing an alarming number of abuse injuries more so thsn normal, and only 2 covid patients, neither symptomatic, one was a infant born to a mom asymptomatic with covid.

We are not tin foil hat wearing crazies, we are people genuinely concerned that our government is acting more out of a sense of CYA than actual concern for citizens, and they sure as hell aren't caring about letting us live our lives how we want, if we want to take the risk then its OUR CHOICE. And if you think some dude breathing into a cut off t shirt mask all day is going to keep you from getting the covid i have a bridge to sell.

The longer that guy wears that mask the wetter and more concentrated all his stuff gets on it, then when he sneezes or yells guess what....it just sprays out....trust me I know. I used to wear a nomex hood at work at nights when it was cold, they worked for about an hour, after that they just got wet around the mouth and nose, we would have to take them off and put them on the heater to dry when we came in out of the cold. Those hoods are thicker than those cloth masks or bandanas, or even the disposable masks people are getting now. He's not stopping anything he's just "loading up"
I have fat thumbs sorry for typos!

You state the very IGNORANCE I referred to!!!! His "numbers" are NOT "factual". They are something he read on the INTERNET. I get REAL data every 15 minutes, that you or he can not get.

                        And WTF are "contevening" numbers?

And this is VIROLOGY not accounting. "Numbers" are absolutely irrelevant. I apologize to all the CPA's who believe life revolves around accounting. IT DOESN'T. But, it DOES around SCIENCE. And THAT is s fact.

                        PLEASE bro, just STOP!!!

The ignorance is BEYOND humorous at this point.

Produce the numbers. Either ther are more than 15% of icu beds are covid or they are not simple.

Numbers matter its the ONLY metric that we can use to guide policy.

And I'm not wrong on the cloth masks. They are CRAP. Moisture collects..

Your simply spouting MUH FEELINGS, post the numbers.

                              FEELINGS?

Listen my friend, I CAN NOT educate every ignorant person who wants to post BS that they heard on a podcast, watched on CNN or FOX, or read on the internet. H3LL even the CDC & WHO have extremely inaccurate #'s. They are weeks and weeks behind.

What your buddy HERB said is ABSOLUTELY INACCURATE. Simply put, what he said is pure crap.

He stated "Dude, less than 15 percent of hospitalizations statewide are COVID. The rest are in for something else, like 3 months worth of elective surgeries that were deferred." Is that a FACT? Explain how that is even possible seeing that Dallas is under Governor Abbott's GA 27 order (as of June 26, 2020: "Every hospital that is licensed under Chapter 241 of the Texas Health and Safety Code, and is also located in Bexar, Dallas, Harris, or Travis counties shall postpone all surgeries and procedures that are not medically necessary to diagnose or correct a serious medical condition of, or to preserve the life"). Hmmmm. It's NOT POSSIBLE. Hence, your statement "Pops he threw out real numbers there" is INACCURATE as well.

Here, you want some FACTS and NUMBERS...... Dallas had 105 more COVID-19 hospitalizations on Monday than it did just the day before. That's a 16% increase in just ONE DAY!!!!!

Did you know that Dallas alone has MORE COVID-19 hospitalizations than 43 STATES (not cities, STATES)?

Did you know Texas reported 9,054 NEW COVID-19 cases on Monday (#'s reported as of 23:55 on 7.6.20)? Dallas reported 1,214.

Did you know Texas has reported 210,006 COVID-19 cases? 106,791 had outcomes of which 104,053 recovered and 2,738 died....that's over a 2.5% death rate.

I can spend HOURS giving you "NUMBERS"!!!

This IS NOT the flu. When people are hospitalized, especially in ICU, they tend to be there for a very long time. Like 4-8 weeks. And with 75% of the beds already filled, the ICU capacity is becoming concerning. Of course OR's and such can be converted to extra COVID-19 ICU's. In normal situations an ICU can be shared by a broad spectrum of cases, but with COVID-19 that is not possible.

This is why I don't even start to debate. Like I stated to HERB, "Arguing this with you is like trying to explain to a 3 year old why 1 AM is morning even though it's still dark. You just CAN'T GET IT."

It's not name calling. It's not a slam or attacking ones character. It's just a fact. I CAN NOT educate posters who are just ignorant to virology, science, medicine, etc.. I mean come on dude.....some people think COVID-19 is a conspiracy to gain power over "the people". "Ahhhh ringy dingy ding". I can't debate crazy.

Have a great day. I am heading to work.

Texas has half the cases than what NY had and 10% of the deaths.

Your death rate is WAY off because as testing goes up so does the total cases, ie more tests=more positives, pointing to there being far more actual cases than what was being found. Some medical groups estimating upwards of 10 times the reported amount.

Your right though this isn't the flu, from September 2018-2019 10k texans died of the flu and pneumonia.

Now if I havn't lost you, I and others are not saying this virus is not serious, but is it serious enough to wreck our kids education, to put millions out of work, and destroy businesses setting us back a decade or more economically. People need to eat, to pay rent, buy heat, and buy clean water, without those things they WILL die.

Right now we are seeing the results of letting one set of experts drive the bus, they have blinders on and are doing their level best to get us through this, but they are also driving us closer to instability and destruction from other means; means they cant see or refuse to recognize because its not in their field.

I have fat thumbs sorry for typos!
