UTPB has been really open about their transfer signings, they have brought in a haul.

I hope WT does really have some unspoken players transferring in. They need it to keep up

I agree for the most part. I just remember back in 2014 (?) when Mark Venric from Northwestern transferred to WT and fans were claiming he would be the next Danny Woodhead and he did not do very much. Hopefully these transfers pan out.

Yeah the story on all of these players will be interesting to see. Mark had a major injury before transferring and was not the same player at WT as what he had been.

Athletes at the P4 level, even walk-ons, should carry their own in D2 with no problem. P4s don't let a bunch of wannabes take up roster spots, even before the new roster limit took effect.

As usual I take the same stance as Tech fans with WT the last 12 years. Optimistic in August and crushed by October.

It will be interesting to see how far down the depth chart at these power 5 schools they were and if they are able to transition to D2 and contribute.

The million dollar question. What keeps him around? 7+ wins?

The window has likely closed for more than 1 LSC team to make the playoffs other than the conference champs with realignment.

If a second LSC team makes it, they cant have more than 2 losses.

Better for a D2 school to bet on a transfer 2 or 3 star HS kid sitting on the bench at K-State than a no star HS kid hoping to maybe develop into a D2 contributor by his Jr year.

This is what the 85 man roster limit in D1 provided. WT won't be the only LSC school snagging former D1 guys. Lots of players looking for a place to play. Hopefully WT gathered more talent than the rest, as that is what college football is.

Oh okay got it. I did see the Abernathy kid Anthony White is transferring from Tech. I believe he had a major injury and Tech was one of the only schools that kept interest in him post injury.

I've seen three OL transfers from North Texas, Sam Houston State and Hawaii, I haven't looked up anything on them. Two long WR from McNeese and Sam Houston, 6'4 an 6'5. The DL under Carthel was always legit, would love to see that again

The Hawaii kid was a 3 star and was rated the #1 OL in the state out of HS. 6'4 300.

I'm hearing some interesting (quite encouraging) things from Buff football land. Several D1 transfers. 6 or 7 from Power 5 schools. Heavy on WRs. One coach is said to have claimed one WR "will be the fastest WR in D2." Some big OLs. A couple prime time LBs. And finally, if things work out, a couple legit edge rushers. WT hasn't had a good edge player since Carthel. Basically, WT is getting a good haul from the portal. The new OC seems to be a helluva recruiter. Expect a wide-open offense with all those WRs deployed in patterns. A very QB friendly offense. So I hear.

WT had 38 seniors, so a lot of schollie money is available.

There is no other season than this season.

I think the theme for this WT season should be “This is the year we turn the corner, right?”

Of course, prior results are not indicative of future results, but year 3 was where Lynn turned the corner at UNK and set the team up for a playoff spot.
