Back in D1 days we had a great men’s tennis team. I watched WT destroy USC in Canyon.

Yes football has been terrible forever, but their GPAs are higher. 🥱

BuffaloChip can you ask the new AD about adding tennis at the next get together?

There are multiple high school tennis coaches that have won state coach of the year and several state champs in the Amarillo area.

It truly is a shame that they have to go elsewhere to play.

We said the exact same thing with Hughes. I said 4th year if no playoffs no job extension. That's what (reluctantly from the AD) happened.

That's the thing. There shouldn't have been 1 second thought about it after losing to Simon Fraser and all of his stuff should have been in a moving POD waiting for him when he got back to the WT campus that Sunday. He would still be here if WT won that game by 1 point.

Quite some time since WT doesn’t have tennis teams.

I will be talking softball in late September and early October, no matter how the football team does. That’s because they have fall practice games.

Their fans do a great job of hyping them up every year before the season starts though. I remember all the way back to when they got a RB transfer from Northwestern I think... and a LB from I wanna say Syracuse. You'd have thought they were going to win the Super Bowl based on the comments here.

Over/Under on how long into the season before they shift to women's tennis threads?

It's too bad the Buffs didn't get older, bigger, faster, and more skilled this year. Lynn's year 2 teams usually fall on their faces. 2-9 will be a good year.

I think he usuallly wins 5 in year 2.

Just my opinion his second year should be above .500, third year contending for a playoff spot, and fourth year making the playoffs and winning the first game.

Any regressing there at any point I would call for the change.

One thing WT has is support. Even if they suck in football, there will be several thousand at a cold game in November. Some of these LSC teams could fit the whole crowd into a McDonald's.

As a side note, I am hearing that WT football will be under the microscope of Lipinsky from the first snap in Alpine. I have a feeling that if he's a bit uncomfortable with the situation, the Lynn era could be a short one.

With our early schedule, I'd say mid Sep and I'll be working on BB.
