That's what I was wondering about. 2 years at WT plus 1 at Old Dominion leaves 2 years left (covid year included).

Wait....he played 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 at WTAMU and 2022 at ODU. How does he have anytime left? The extra year of eligibility moved it from 5 years to 6 years to complete 4 years of playing. Based on stats, he played 3 years at WT and 1 at ODU making it 4 full seasons played, not including COVID year.

he started 12 games at ODU? Crazy considering he’s a D2 transfer. Where does it say he’s in the portal? If the bio is right, there is no way he has any eligibility left.

He is an exceptional player. The entre defense played better when he was on the field.

I looked over each of his playing years. He only played in 3 games (out of 6) in 2020, so it's possible he got a medical redshirt for that year. That's the only way I can see where he would have a year of eligibility left. Hughes understandably loved Harris, which is why I thought he might have shown up on the NO team.

Yeah I was thinking he might have taken a shot applying for other D2 head coaching positions and turned his nose up at coordinator positions and got caught with nothing.

This could be a stepping stone or that was the last thing left besides being jobless for the year.

Me personally I would have looked into a temporary 5A or 6A head high school coaching position in Texas as a "last resort".

Some of those jobs could pay equal or more than some of the D2 head coaching positions.

Many pay more than D2. More job security and MUCH better benefits!!!

Usually better facilities....more $$ to work with and in many cases unlimited resources and talent (i.e. Southlake, Allen, Katy, Highland Park, etc...etc..)

Not to mention packed stadiums....phenomenal game day experience....and lots of extras from local businesses.

I would take HS coaching over D2 or FCS and some FBS ANY DAY.

I don't think he will ever be a head coach again, at any level. Nesbitt has done well but their defense is suspect. Maybe he needs to hire Hughes. McBroom could go over there as AD and they could all live happily ever after.

I am too. I wished him no ill will at all it just didnt work out at WT the same way it didnt for Nesbitt.

I hope he finds himself again like Nesbitt and has the same success unless he faces WT again in a different capacity.

He does? Flemming was a 6'0 beast. Albeit Taye WILL be an impact player.
