CSU Pueblo just beat Lubbock Christian by 8. Yesterday commerce beat CSU Pueblo. Should be a great competitive LSC season.

Whoa! That was totally, completely, almost unbelievably unexpected.

WT women beat the undefeated and #2 ranked Texas A&M Commerce Lions 82-72 last night. Lady Buffs beat them in 2020 on the road when they were #3 ranked.

Very good game, low number of turnovers by both teams. The difference was the WT defense. The Lions went without a field goal for 6:30 of the fourth quarter. With the upset of LCU, by TAMK,
Wt is the #1 team in the LSC. Wt is also leading the nation in rebounding and Lewis, our post, leads the nation in blocked shots. Karley Motschenbacher has been a pleasant surprise for the Buffs.
Last night she had 15 points and 13 rebounds as a 5'8" shooting guard. Lauren Taylor, a 5'10" small forward, is the most improved player on the team. She is a match-up problem for most teams. This is a solid, deep, well-balanced team with a high upside. The offense is fast-paced with good ball movement. They handle the press well and can play shut-down defense. If Wt continues to improve they will be a sweet 16 team. From 2005 till now Wt is 25-4 against the Lions. Good luck in D1

The Lions have already canceled their Saturday game against Cameron.

Their style of play is a pleasure to watch and Coach Prock is decisive. Making layups is a problem (I lost count of the number they missed last night) but I'm sure he knows that. You're right about Karley. She is a great addition to the Lady Buffs. Looking forward to the rest of the season.

She has become my favorite player. She is playing more minutes than anyone. Her father was her HS coach, she has a high basketball IQ. Averaging 10 points and 8 rebounds a game. If the game is on the line, I want the ball in her hands. She is just a sophomore. She would be a starting PG for most teams.

Commerce just came off a week and a half with no games due to covid issues on the team and are still recovering. You could see they didnt have their legs in the 4th quarter and missed 15 of their last 16 shots in the game. Looking forward to seeing them play WT healthy in the conference tourney.

Jake, you are one of the people I'm going to miss. As you know that depends on the tournament seeding. One of us will need to beat LCU for that to happen.

With Saturday's game (for Commerce) already postponed, Thursday may be in jeopardy.
