Not sure if this means they looking to jump the WAC ship for FBS or they along with A&M's Sharp are just improving the Stadium for the future. Either way they have big aspirations.

Not sure if you are aware, but Washington-Grizzly Stadium seats over 25k for an FCS stadium in Missoula and Montana hasn't jumped to FBS. There are some large stadiums also in the Ivy League.

That said, good for Tarleton State as I saw that ESPN even had a feature on their website for the basketball program. That is good marketing by them.

I remember reading the WAC plans to move up to FBS in the future (I think it's by the end of the decade). So Tarleton State is planning ahead. Kudos to them!

I wish the Mothership would throw some of this love over to Commerce and completely redo the stadium. Now that the Lions are transitioning as well the stadium needs the same attention given to Tarleton.

Clears throat.... If the Mothership would TAMUK half the love it's given Tarleton with their football facilities, we'd be in a much better position today.. Commerce is sitting much prettier than TAMUK at this point.

Not quite. The stadium that gets the most publicity for starting off the stadium wars in Texas is the Allen ISD stadium which capacity is 18000 and has an enrollment of 7500.

And I was not too surprised by the link above to find the larger stadiums are older facilities before the above mentioned stadium wars started. My personal favorite is Alamo Stadium, aka the Rockpile in San Antonio. Not too be confused for the Alamodome.

You are missing the point. The new nice shiny stadium represents progress and will attract better football players who are all in on looks and perception. Show me the bling!
