Definitely agree with this. But, what I don’t agree with is that these players gave their best effort and that falls directly in the lap of Hughes.

in the famous words of the man who raised Eric Dickerson

All you do, do with all your might. Things done by halves are never done right.

The WT effort in the last two games was definitely half Azz.

There have been plenty of teams in the same situation as WT in the back half of the season before. At some point it does come down to keeping your team motivated and ready to play. I don’t think Hughes did that. They were obviously not motivated to play and after the season we’re definitely not motivated to stay and decided to hit the portal. The good coaches are able to keep their players in it and playing for each other. Doesn’t seem like that was the case for Hughes

Grades do not make a great cardiovascular surgeon.

Do you want a surgeon who finished at the top of his med school class academically, but is a real klutz with a scalpel in his hands or the surgeon who finished last in his class but is a true artist when it comes to dexterity and skill with tools being deployed in your heart? Grades or skill in the OR?

It wasn't just the players, it was the entire operation. I've never heard of a team showing up with home uniforms when they were supposed to wear their visitors uniforms. I didn't even know there were penalties for that sort of stupidity (loss of 1 timeout per half and a 15 yard penalty on first possession). I wonder how many times these rules have been enforced in the history of the NCAA?

            SKILL. Grades be damned!

And that's how is usually is. Physicians & Surgeons don't learn medicine or skills in a classroom. It is hands on training AFTER school that teaches them. That's why they spend 4 years training AFTER school.

Same goes for a CPA. I know Ivy league educated CPA's who flat out suck and guys who educated online and barely passed who are simply amazing.

The MD with the highest GPA is probably better suited as a clinical diagnostician or internal medicine specialist than a neurosurgeon.

YES! Didn't you watch the game, it was explained by the commentators.

The team managers must have been The Marx Brothers.

Not really, it still comes down to TRAINING not GPA. My personal physician is a concierge physician in Highland Park. Ivy-league educated and trained, #2 in her class. I am switching to a new concierge in January. Enough said.

Bagging on the AD is your schtick, and that's fine, but that is the furthest of WT's issues.

So your current physician threw her hands up when it came to treating you? I get it.
