I hope the sense of urgency does increase now. Ideally we need a roadmap from the Administration this spring on what grand plans they have not only for football, but the other programs too. Also a concern might be Salinas being a candidate for this job. He's a native son of Edinburg and now has some college HC experience on his resume. He's doing the right things and needs more time and tools to get more done. I'd hate to lose him. He'd get those same tools right off the bat at UTRGV.

Im not sure it is all bad news for Kingsville. Yes, it will syphon off fan support from the most populus area in their fan base, and that is definitely not a plus.

As for recruits though, UTRGV will not be a successful D1 program if they and Kingsville are battling for the same recruits. I understand at first UTRGV might be competing for some of the same guys, but if the kind of recruits that Kingsville are looking for are also getting offers from UTRGV that is not a good sign for UTRGV.

That being said, Kingsville might pick up some D1 transfers that cannot crack the lineup at UTRGV. That would be a plus for Kingsville.

I dont think there will be that great of a difference in talent level from UTRGV and Kingsville in the context of true D1 transfers.
