Head Coach experience: Check
Texas knowledge: Check
Lone Star Conference knowledge: Check

With the resources that WT has, I think he would be an effective coach and recruiter in Canyon. Considering what he has had to work with in Odessa, he has done about as well as anyone could hope to do.

Of course, he is not well liked by most coaches and fans in the conference, so he also checks that box for WT! (sarcasm font is on regarding the part about WT; definitely NOT sarcasm about how well liked he is by the rest of the conference).

He is a highly productive and motivated azz. He has always had a winning attitude. as a player and coach. I'd hoped we would see him back at ASU someday.

So, is that a demotion, lateral move, or promotion? If lateral or promotion it’s misleading to say he stepped down or was relieved of his duties.

Nothing said he was relieved of his duties. He clearly stepped down.
