Hes gone. I dont hire a coach to be a middle of the road team in a watered down LSC with a brand new shiny stadium. There now have been several coaches out there that turn it around in one year with the new rules.

If Kingsville plays the way they did at WOU, WT has zero chance to beat them. I think the final opportunity to win MAY be against MSU. The Buffs MIGHT manage a field goal attempt against Angelo.

Any above average high school QB can burn the WT secondary.

The Peccaries were awful in those two games, that's for sure, but they were against the 2 best teams in the conference. They showed a lot of pride and toughness in that excellent game yesterday in Oregon.

Last night WT went 3 quarters without scoring - to a .500 team. That game was an embarrassment, especially the 3rd quarter. I should have watched reruns of The Walking Dead instead.

Just picking through what'd be acceptable in the 250 mile net I was casting. He's an alum and the most feared recruiter in D2. Not sure if we could get Carthel but he'd be a boost

The only difference between McCollough and Lynn is McCollough brought his star QB with him from his previous school and kept the same offense and Lynn didn't get his even bigger star QB to come with him.

McCollough will be looking to get out of UTPB quickly though. Hearing some shady stuff. He will need to leave before it catches up with him there.

Commerce would be a graveyard for any coach, any sport. They do not have the budget to be even modestly competitive at low D1.

There is no way in hades Adam Dorrel will come to WT. UCO is competitive in facilities and now he has them competing for a MIAA title. If anything he is probably looking for a second chance at FCS after not getting it done at ACU.

No. He’s looking ahead while his sizzle is still there. He moved pretty quickly in year one but is now raising some smoke. Lots of “only rumors” in the air. Not sure on Commerce comment. Don Carthel would get a lot of folks behind the program and I bet he’s got a few years left

I actually didn't know Faske went to WT...I had Hughes flashbacks there. I think Don Carthel might be semi-retired now too, working for his son.

I went to the SFA website, and Don isn't in the list of coaches or staff. I know he helped out for a long time, including being the head coach for a week when Colby had COVID. Yes, they won that game.

I hate to say it, but Hughes looks pretty good compared to Lynn, which is tragic.

This is purely speculative, with no insider information.

There's a new Athletic Director at both WT and UTPB.

The fanbase at WT is calling for a change.

UTPB lacks an on-campus stadium and is essentially an expansion college football program. Some have claimed the department overspent by $10 million, but I'm skeptical of that.

I believe they would target McCullough. What other names would they go after? GVSt is not coming. Unless, you can get a sitting HC, WT is not a learn on the job position.

He could be tempted by the better facilities, support, and finances at WT. I think he could lead them to compete for a national championship.

WT's on-campus stadium has done so much for the program. NOT. Football has sucked since the year Carthel was fired, except for a couple of years, and no post season appearances even then. Yes, I know WT had a decent playoff run with Nesbitt clapping from the sidelines the year Carthel was fired, but Don had them ready, You are right about McCullough, he would be much better than Lynn.

It's WT, WTSU(retro), or WTAMU. If Elon Musk buys the school, then it might be WTX.
