Felt like checking in on TAMUT to see what they've been up to... They signed a whopping 68 kids on national signing day. For a season where they won't even see the field (it's a development year before beginning play in 2027). I know in the age of the portal a lot can change with regards to rosters, but it seems like they're really building something in Texarkana.
How does that work? Does developmental mean they can redshirt and keep their full eligibility?

In the Transfer Portal Era Start up actually have a huge advantage. They can go out and assemble a roster from scratch and be able to promise the one thing every kid wants immediate playing time. UTRGV started with a bang and I would expect the same from TAMUT if they are truly going to be fully funded at 36 scholarship. I wouldn't be surprised to see a top 5 LSC finish in year one.

Hey BC can we look forward to some Subway at the next tailgate WT home game against the Angelo Lambs? Cold cut trio with avocado is my favorite! 😋

Built out a new clinic thst opened in Sept. It cost 3.5 times what my last one cost. Absolutely ludicrous!! ROI will take longer. It's almost not worth growing.

It opened 2019 pre-COVID. LSC Fan numbers are pretty accurate. Maybe even a bit low in 2026 costs. Unless they use metal/aluminum bleachers like Bain-Schaeffer has instead of all concrete.

I suppose you have built some of your franchises since COVID....costs are still outrageous as yiu probably well know.

Joshua Eargle was named as Texarkana's inaugural head coach today. He was head coach at D3 East Texas Baptist from 2013-2015, and was most recently tight ends coach/run game coordinator at UTEP this past season.

Yeah everything is sold on schedule based on half done designs these days. It's nuts.

Pops is right. Const costs are insane since covid. The whole supply chain went up and never came down. Labor costs followed.

If scholarships are fully funded this should be a job set up for success in my opinion. Texarkana has significant natural advantages where a coach can beat an opponent with more resources.

There are far more large high school football programs within an hour drive than most D2 schools can claim, and little competition locally from D2 opponents. The Texas/Arkansas rivalry is a real... I don't like people across the state line. But, if the marketing pitch is "Texarkana" more than it is Texas then I bet that lands in homes and with parents. Also, a new stadium even if small is better than most D2 stadiums. Lastly, someone mentioned there are strict rules about how the system can fund football, but school administrators are experts at compliance. They will find a way to designate a facility as a classroom, or pay for something "academic" that has 90% athletics use.
East Texas State should have relocated to Texarkana when there was a strong push for it years ago.

The Prosper stadium was prpjected $94 million in 2023. It would be over $100M today.

I really don't know much about WT. It looks like rhe have a great deal.of aluminum vs concrete. But I have not been.

100mill for a brand new stadium is a pretty fair price.
