The All-Conference awards and teams were announced: https://lonestarconference.org/news/...-revealed.aspx

Offensive Player of the Year (J.W. Rollins Award): Kennedy McGill, Central Washington
Offensive Back of the Year: RJ Martinez, West Texas A&M
Receiver of the Year: King Phillips, Texas A&M-Kingsville
Offensive Lineman of the Year: Slade Edwards, Central Washington
Offensive Freshman of the Year: Connor Ackerley, Western New Mexico
Defensive Player of the Year (J.V. Sikes Award): Tristan Exline, UT Permian Basin
Defensive Lineman of the Year: Tyler King, Central Washington
Linebacker of the Year: Tristan Exline, UT Permian Basin
Defensive Back of the Year: Xavier Walton, Angelo State
Defensive Freshman of the Year: Mika Roberson, Central Washington
Newcomer of the Year: Zach Phipps, West Texas A&M
Coach of the Year: Arne Ferguson, Western Oregon

I must say I am actually a little surprised McGill won the Offensive POTY award and was named 1st Team over Martinez; I thought him and Martinez would be switched in regards to the awards and 1st/2nd Teams. CWU also saw 3 1st Team offensive AND defensive linemen, which is deserved. Sophomore Tyler King had a breakout year at DE and he will be scary the next 2 years. Mika Roberson stepped it up for the CWU defense and punt return game too. Well deserved for Ferguson to earn Coach of the Year.

Also, McGill was named Academic Player of the Year, holding a 3.95 GPA in sports management

I'm a little surprised WOU had only one 1st team defensive guy, WOU defense was pretty strong this year. For the most part, no complaints. I thought the UTPB QB was lights out vs. WOU, a little surprised he wasn't mentioned anywhere.

For how good the QBs were this year, I am a bit surprised McGill was named 1st Team QB with Martinez 2nd Team and Gibson only honorable mention. Frankly, since is was sorta a down year for RBs (other than the ENMU guy), they should've just listed McGill as a RB.

For WOU, Murphy and Northcutt, especially the latter, deserved better than Honorable Mention.

Gotta give congrats to coach Ferguson. Sure, I'm a homer, but he did a fantastic job this year. After the West Texas A&M game I thought the Wolves were left for dead. They had somewhere around 50 yards of total offense and I thought they had imploded. Granted West Texas is a fine team and it wasn't a surprise that WOU lost, but how Western Oregon lost.

They bounced back nicely, of course they had a couple easier games, but they beat some of the more powerful teams in the league and I just thought Ferguson really kept the players together down the stretch. I'm glad he got this honor.

It's much deserved for Ferg. I really hope they build off of this.
