  • OT: SFA at Montana State

This game sounds interesting. After defeating ACU, SFA is heading to Bozeman, MT to play Montana State. Bozeman is a beautiful town, located about 90 miles from Yellowstone National Park.

The weather is warmer than I expected, 56/37 but with rain. Montana State is heavily favored.

Tarleton got a huge break with North Dakota State losing second round.

They will have home field advantage the whole time until the championship game in Nashville.

SFA has been horrible in the first half, though they did pick MSU in the end zone. They trailed 24-0 before finally putting together a good drive and scoring just before the end of the first half. 24-8 will be hard to come back from. SFA has 3 turnovers and few yards before the last drive.

Tarleton has a 31% of winning the championship. MSU is about 11 points better.

Not sure if they can do a Yale vs YSU comeback, but at least that late 8 points makes the game interesting again.

SFA has definitely been their own worst enemy in this game.

Huge key is if both teams make it there, its a neutral site game and no threat of super frigid temps.

Bozeman is surprisingly warm and dry tonight, but next week the snow begins.

SFA now down only 10, going for it on 4th down and missing but the drive continued thanks to a pass interference penalty. The 2 point try failed. 24-14.

This was not a fun game to watch unless you are an MSU fan. SFA was way outmatched by speed. The MSU QB could not only pass but he can run like the wind too. 2 other backs had great games.

Meanwhile, according to the commentators, SFA had 4 pass drops, except it seemed more like 14. The SFA QB was throwing darts but some of his receivers acted like they had never caught passes before.

At least SFA never gave up. They lose, 44-28.

Colby finally got a short interview on the sideline, admitted they were shooting themselves in the foot. Very true.

Good luck to Montana State. I have friends who graduated from there and I have visited the campus which is nice. Bozeman has grown up too fast. I was last there in 2020 or 2021. The Residence Inn was $550 a night but reasonable using points.

Hoo boy, that game was Ugh leeee for the bus league schools and their champion SFA.

SFA Defense was a makeshift screen door mounted on a submarine to seal off water from getting in.

Best hope to soothe their egos is if Montana St runs the table as convincingly.

Kudos to Carthel finally getting that dog to the playoffs

SFA football has been horrible since I don’t know when

I've only watched 2 other SFA games before tonight. The only good win they had in 3 games was against WT in 2020.

Montana State took a while to get going, but they were much better than SFA. They really ground them down. SFA was up to some shenanigins with simulating snap counts, and was called for it twice. Nice to see the old Carthel crap is still around.

I have had Bobcat season tickets for some time. They put out a great product and game day experience.

I stayed overnight in Bozeman in July of 2005. That is almost ten times what I paid. Crazy.
