  • Fisk/Portland State story

Good story here, picture shows lots of former CWU assistants with him. Fisk has a good vision, plan, and I think he'll put in the effort. It's up to the school to get behind him. They don't have to break the bank, but be better. They just made a great hire, now get behind him.

Damn! It looks like all of his assistants, including the OC who we thought was still in Ellensburg, went with him. So CWU will be bringing in a completely new staff. I watched his press conference. He is certainly looking to build a culture first. Then the wins will come.

Fisk was correct in saying the I-5 corridor should produce many top recruits for PSU. When Idaho hired Jason Eck (now at New Mexico), he refocused UI's efforts into the Puget Sound and they found a ton of great players, who led them to the playoffs. Many left in the portal and ended up starting at Power 4 schools. Fisk can find the players. Portland suburbia, Salem, and southern Oregon, is somewhat under-recruited; and so is the Puget Sound area, tons of great players there. He will bring in guys and if he gets support, he can win there, but I think it's a 3-4 year rebuild.

Correction: OC Ferriter is still in Ellensburg. I thought he was the guy in the photo on the left of Fisk but that is apparently someone else who looks similar. Not sure who the guy on the left of Fisk is in that photo

I was looking at the Portland State schedule.

Talk about a swing in scenery for Fisk from playing road games in front of dozens in Alpine Texas to a non conference road matchup next year at Oregon.

Fisk's daughter got a better job than he did. Real campus with a stadium.
