NAIA Wayland Baptist at Sul Ross August 29th
Nice find. I didnt think Sul Ross had a twitter since there wasnt a link on their main university football page.

You both have programs dedicated to competing at least in the football arena. Don’t know much of your other sports. Hopefully we have a long relationship. LSC has enough non- football members. Glad y’all are aboard. With that said, I hope Angelo waxes you both in 2026. I know Angelo is down, but as Pops says, Girsch is a great coach and dedicated to what he does. I know we have a tough row to hoe, but every one else does too.
Thanks, we've enjoyed the LSC membership as has CWU. Angelo State has been a very formidable opponent since we've been in the conference, perhaps last year's win was the only one for the Wolves, not sure.

I wasnt talking trash, I was making a point that from a travelling standpoint the RMAC schools would be closer to WO and CWU.

UTPB and ASU beat CW in 2024.

I find it ironic that you lecture peeps about the options Western Oregon might have to face in a couple of years if the LSC continues to expand but then post about Southern Oregon wondering if they are going to keep their program.
The Southern Oregon issue is a real one as they're struggling to make payroll university wide.

Yeah thats fair. I am wondering myself if Sul Ross might pull the rip cord in D2 anytime soon.

Funnily enough, that's not even where I originally found it. Stumbled across a Twitter post announcing it from the Sul Ross alumni chapter of El Paso I believe, and I only came across the actual Sul Ross football Twitter when I dug a little deeper to confirm. I didn't think they had much of a social media presence before this either.

Oh, and why is CWU putting their new coach through a Ferris State game right off the bat?
These games are often schedule 2-3 years out so they probably weren't planning on having a new coach

I called their athletic department this morning and they wouldnt give anything up, even rumors.

There used to be a decent MSU following that would keep us in the loop until they tailed off at the end of the Maskill years.

Western Colorado replaced MSU with ASU and no word if Missouri Southern will keep them again.

Options are getting slim in SR4: Teams left with openings are Ft. Lewis, Missouri Southern, Central Oklahoma, Emporia State, NW Missouri, and Chadron.

What could happen is if MSU has a non scheduled LSC game in the middle of the season they might reach out to Northeastern State since they are an independent and just not play week 0 or week 1.

Northeastern State is putting together a heck of an independent D2 schedule.

Kingsville posted their 2026 schedule yesterday with non conference games at home vs. Northwest Missouri State and on the road against Saginaw Valley.

Yeah I thought it would be between Cal Poly and San Diego again.

I believe we open with Ferris State and then Cal Poly. Either way, a helluva way to start the season.

I know Cal Poly isn't a Montana State, Montana type of Big Sky, but they're FCS, so hopefully we get a good check out of it. As for Ferris State, I welcome the chance to knock off what looks to be the D2 version of a professional football program. Good God.

Do I think we can win both? Of course I do. Am I worried about starting 0-2? Of course I am.

Starting to hear chatter from enough multiple reliable sources that Midwestern State will play Missouri Southern at home and then Michigan Tech on the road.

All the LSC non conference games have been filled and updated on the original post as long as everything pans out on the rumors.

I will updated the dates when the announcements are official.

I meant to follow up on this: it is a home and home, CWU will travel to Big Rapids in 2028.
