  • WOU 2026 football roster

Kudos to our sports information director, Clayton Jones, pretty much a one-man show in his department, for getting this year's football roster out early.

One glaring omission for me was Tyler Copeland, an outstanding linebacker and honorable mention all-conference in 2025, is not listed. He was a redshirt junior last year. A lot of guys in small college athletics move on, seen it at every sport at Western Oregon. You get to your senior year, internships are coming up as is graduation. I don't blame any athlete for moving on, though I thought he was outstanding, one of those guys who could play a lot at the FCS level. Hope they've replaced him well.

Lots of backs, and some big/tall TEs and WRs. I think Western Oregon is definitely going to be a playoff team this season and I think they should be the favorites to win the conference.

Hard to tell, I have them in the top three and Central Washington as my pick. My take is Western needs to beat Central on the field and prove it to me, they almost did it last year but not quite. But I do think they will have a very successful season.

Western looks primed for a standout season, hopefully they make the playoffs this year. I think everyone in the conference (and the board) would enjoy the pack in the postseason.

Thanks for the great Post RunninWild, I wish we had more Western Oregon fans on this board.

This is by far the most excited I've been for an upcoming Western Oregon season. I'm traveling down to the Southern Oregon game the second week of the season, and plan on going to all the home games. I'd like to go to the opener at Colorado Mines, but I can't make it. I will stream it, however. Should be a super exciting season, hoping for a playoff berth.

Thank you for the welcome to the board. I'm excited for how this upcoming season will go that I feel will be successful. Gotta translate it the field at the same time as well to turn the results into fruition. I definitely plan on coming to at least some home games when the time works in the later part of the season. I plan on streaming the Mines game, should be an awesome game for that matchup.

Last year’s roster was out really late if I remember right, so this is good to see.

Also noticed that coach Ferguson’s son is on the roster as a backup QB.

Yes, coach Ferguson's son was an extremely talented high school player in the area. He has great size and a big arm. I believe he's listed as a senior but I hope they can get another year out of him. With McCarty as a senior and the preseason conference offensive player of the year, there appears to be pretty good quarterback depth. With the new rules going in maybe they can get another year for Brooks. He was at Portland State first as a quarterback and then as a tight end.

Now we need the CWU and Midwestern State rosters.

Sorry, that's classified. We don't want our opponents to do any research

I’m interested to see who returning or leaving for the Wildcats football program genuinely. Will be a storyline to watch throughout the LSC conference nevertheless.

Same here. Who is the Central Washington quarterback, that's my big question. They always have a good one and they lost a good one.

Well they didn't really pick up anyone in the transfer portal except for a mediocre D3 guy who I'm assuming is just coming in as depth. So I would assume former Gatorade WA State POTY Kolton Matson will be the new QB1, unless last year's backup Caleb Christensen returns for another season and becomes the starter. But really I can't know unless I see the roster

Hearing that CWU HC Power has a few D1's that followed him over here in addition to the guys that were publicly announced. All I care about is that we win in front of big crowds. I don't care if it's star players or a bunch of no-namers who get the job done.
