LSC Pick'em: Week 1

Welcome to the opening week of D2 football! Oh wait... That was week 0. It's all very confusing. The LSC had some ups, but mostly downs. Let's see how they do this week. WTAM jumps out of the frying pan and into the fire to take on Grand Valley State. Angelo State takes some oxygen canisters with them to Western Colorado. New Mexico Highlands looks to secure their peppery award playing at Western New Mexico. Victorious Western Oregon travels! to NAIA Southern Oregon. Maybe they'll catch some Shakespeare while they are there. Midwestern takes their win to play the Yoopers at Michigan Tech. Colorado Mesa heads south to Eastern New Mexico. TAMUK carpools with WTAM going to Michgain to play Saginaw Valley State (wait, 3 LSC teams are going to Michigan this weekend. How did that happen?) CWU takes their team (well, at least we think they have a team since the roster is still not up) down to play FCS Cal Poly. Finally, in the early Somebody's Gotta Win Bowl, Adams State travels to Sul Ross State.

Looking forward to the Western Oregon at Southern Oregon game on Saturday. I know SOU is an NAIA team, it's an in-state event where they get pretty good crowds and there used to be a trophy for the game, not sure that still is happening since they're in different divisions. Western Oregon won last year but it was a pretty good game.

Southern Oregon isn't ranked right now, they won by three over Simpson a California on the road last week. They have an excellent quarterback who was 26 of 36 for 330 yards and three touchdowns. He played a year at Oregon State as a redshirt. I've never been to a game there, I'm looking forward to it I heard it's got a nice view of the mountains in the background.
