Joe Ford has been named DC after Nick Benedetto has taken an FCS job (a quick twitter search makes it look like Samford based on his latest followers). Benedetto has been with Coach A since their time at West Virginia State, and his DC since 2014.

Best of luck to the former Cougar Benedetto on his climb up the ladder. And let's hope Coach Ford can keep the strong defenses we've seen lately outta the Coo.

Pretty quiet on the board today for NSD.

I follow recruiting very very little. That being said, here are two articles on the Coo's 2020 class.

A few thoughts just skimming the list. Solid amount of local guys (SD and NW Iowa especially). After I talked about the Coo's success with JuCo guys in the other thread there's just one this year, and two grad transfers. All the rest HS guys.

Perhaps Tman or Tundra can fill me in on any real studs but now we wait until fall.

Went to the USF signing day party tonight. They talked up a lot of their recruits. A big focus for this class was to bring in depth, especially in the trenches. They wound up recruiting 38 players, which is a huge number. The vast majority were from SD or the five states surrounding SD.

Coach talked about how their #1 priority was to bring in guys who were the right fit for USF rather than simply looking at film and stats. They mentioned they had numerous recruits turn down full ride scholarships from other schools because the players felt that USF was a better fit for them even though the Coo couldn't offer them the same assistance.

They talked about Jaice Miller and showed some film. He looks like he's got real potential. They said his size and style are very much like Luke Papilion and they think he's going to be something special.

I don't remember his name, but the wide receiver they got from Arizona looks crazy fast.

Will Washenberger was there. He is an extremely large human. Not fat, just huge, especially considering he's still a senior in high school. After he spends some time in the conditioning program he's going to be a real monster on the OL.

It appears he only started for one season because Augie basketball player Bennett Otto was QB1 before him.

I didnt realize this kid had 3 D1 offers..... FCS North Dakota, FCS South Dakota and FBS Wyoming. That's why the Wright kid from SC area took the preferred walk on from Wisconsin. Makes sense.
