Does anyone in the know have any idea why Marco Rubio is wearing a USF shirt? I mean, I can't fault him for his taste in schools, but I'm not sure what the connection is?

I've been trying to figure out some sort of connection since I saw this yesterday and I cannot figure it out.

-Bought this shirt as a way to rep the other USF and has no idea its not the bovine USF? Ouch if so.

-Fellow US Senator John Thune has been sighted at USF games previously and I served with his wife Kimberly on the BoT for a time. Thune hooked Rubio up with a shirt? Unlikely but closest connection I could come up with unless Rubio has a staffer who's a USF fan/alum? Idk.

That is weird. He'd of had to make more than a few wrong left turns on the internet if he bought it for himself. It's not like mistaking Southern California for South Carolina. So if that is the case - big ouch.

My guess is that he either got it from a big USF alum living in Florida, he has friends/family that attended there, or someone was trying to prank him.

I've posted it various times in various threads, but I wrote a letter to (almost) every NSIC player on an active NFL roster. I didn't get around to Brandon Zylstra or Adam Thielen. I recently heard back from Dennis Gardeck who sent me his signature! That was really cool.

I wrote to Trey Pipkins as well, but I think I had the wrong address - so I will try again next season.

Thune rocks the Coo's "cool swag" at the US Senate gym, Rubio gets it and wears it to his COVID vaccination, internet is confused, USF marketing sends Rubio more cool swag as a nice gesture, Rubio wears more swag, internet becomes even more confused, Rubio finally replies and the great Senate USF t-shirt mystery is solved.

I don't follow recruiting much at all. Too many variables at any level, but especially D2, but figured I'd pass along USF's signing class. Browsing through it, some notables...

-6 transfers and 35 freshman. Decent sized class. I would expect some turnover with the lost season so this isn't a huge surprise. There are two NSIC transfers, which don't seem that common. A RB from Wayne State (local kid, Tri-Valley) and an OL from the ashes of Crookston (RIP).
-11 offensive lineman. Can never have too many guys in the room here. Take longer to groom, and often harder for them to pan out. This includes a Fresno State transfer. Coach Grubb and Deboer sending guys back this way I see.
-I always enjoy seeing where these guys come from and the majority (12) are from Minnesota with Arizona interestingly having the next most with 7. Followed by 5 from Iowa, 4 from Wisconsin, 3 South Dakota guys, and smattering of other states.

The Hoppe kid from Hutch is very good. Good get

The Wysong kid from HBC is related to Zach Wysong who is SMSU's all time rushing leader and a great player from the 2000s. I believe maybe his nephew. Also a good get.

I know SMSU recruityed Wysong and offered. Not sure on the Hoppe kid, but I assume we wanted him too.
