  • AUGUSTANA FOOTBALL 2021

2021 brings us fresh hope for a better year. Augustana signs a class of 23 student athletes. Had a conversation with Head Coach Olszewski last fall and he expressed concerns that players may quit school without football and because of cost of attending AU. He has to be relieved as it appears only a few have left the program. One of the highlights of the class Is Tate Johnson a smaller RB. at 5'10" 170 Lbs, who is quick and makes fantastic cuts on the field, he is a 2 year SD POY and Argus leader elite 45 team captain. The bunny rabbit team an hour north of Sioux Falls were very interested in him. Also signed a couple of studs out of Phoenix AZ area who had D1 interest

Quite the interesting recruiting classes in the NSIC with the MSU Mavs signing only 12, which is scary meaning most of their seniors must have stayed for one more semester for another shot at a NC. SMSU signs 72 meaning they were looking for a fresh start, it appears that they got some very good athletes.

Not exactly football related, but Crow Bar in Sioux Falls was selected to represent Augustana in Barstool's Best College Bar bracket.

Do not know what the powers to be are thinking. When is Morningside going to grow cojones like USF and move up from the bottom rung of the college football ladder back to D2?

Nice try; D3 is bottom rung, but Morningside College, soon to be Mside University, is quite happy where it is.
New President, when announced, may have a different idea though. Hope he/she is not from NC2A or road trips may become 5 to 8 hour affairs. Right now, from Council Bluffs, Jamestown is only trip outside 3.5 hours.
Now, when Augie is playing Dayton and Butler, you'll be on the bottom rung; non scholli.
