Good for him. He was a stud HS QB for D1 (highest level of WI HS FB) and should have truly been D1 or walked on somewhere and was shocked when he went D2. He proved himself and is taking a worthwhile gamble.

Nice article today from the Bemidji Pioneer on Gunner Olszewski. He had 54 all-purpose yards (running, receiving & punt return) for the Patriots in New England's 31-3 preseason win at Detroit.

I was actually in downtown Detroit Thursday afternoon and I happened to run into his aunt I believe it was. Kinda surprised that they didn't know, "Who Hates Huntsville??" but I think that they're more football fans than hockey. Was just amusing to see the Bemidji Beaver on a shirt.

Small world...although Gunner has a Bemidji grandfather connection, his family background is mostly Texan with little hockey background. But, "who hates Huntsville?" does resonate with most in the Bemidji area, especially with the middle-age or older Beaver fans.

Cannot say I'm a Patriot fan, but they have a way of finding guys like Gunner and getting production out of them. Go Gunner!
